@@mv3380 yet he couldnt beat Ricky Carmichael and David Starr in his debut, lol. Just accept that NASCAR is way too hard for most Open wheel drivers. A.J. didnt had his breakthrough but after almost 7 years running, Montoya had to grind hard to get his 2 wins. I never said Kimi is bad, I just said that he needs to grind his way up if he wants to leave his mark in NASCAR, maybe win some ARCA and Truck races.

@@JH13WasTaken Carl Edwards did beat F1 GOAT Michael Schumacher in a Rally Car, and he's not even the NASCAR GOAT! Now based on that, we can be sure Kimi is at least at Chris Buescher or Ricky Stenhouse NASCAR skill level right now. Also be aware, I did not said Kimi is bad, or a Hack, I just said he needs more time in this type of car racing to adapt and get on his F1 Glory days talent levels.

@@brotatochip7001 by your comment I can tell you think this is the only nascar race I watch, I understand why it wasn’t being covered while the leaders were duking it out. Nevertheless disappointing because he had to be flying his first stint showing his wet driving capability and the cars.

@@robertryan7204 he was 8th because of the pit cycle. People in front had stopped for slicks, it happens to almost every driver. In that clip he was 17th-19th when taking the pit cycle in account. That’s where he dropped to when he eventually pit, he just stayed longer on wets.

There was a lot of controversy when he was a rookie and F1 he didn't have as much single seat experience but he proved everyone wrong. Just give him a steering wheel and let him go he will show you how fast he is and he's such a quick learner

Impressive job by Kimi, fighting Chase at one point, that was impressive, looked comfortable despite a lack of time to learn the track & get to grips with the car, did a great job 👏👏

@@Fiox789 I hope you keep watching. As a brit I've got really into nascar this year. It's been a lot more entertaining than the F1 this year, that's for sure. It's a true driver's championship, you don't need to spend hundreds of millions on your team and car in order to be even somewhat competitive, it's so much cheaper to run a nascar team that a lot more people can do it. The main problem when I talk to other Europeans is convincing them about how good oval races can be, they just tend to go "haha nascar driver no turn right!". But they tend to be really fun races because everyone is always close to each other, the car at the back may be only 2 or 3 seconds from the front. Just try watching one, before you judge it. Plus there's the whole thing of oval races being objectively the best races to watch live in person because you can see the whole track at the same time unlike most F1 races for example. Which means there's a better atmosphere too, which only improves things.

I'm so happy for Kimi. He exceeded my expectations and I'd love to see him run more NASCAR if the opportunity arises and he's motivated. He looked like he had a lot of fun. I've never seen him talk so much in an interview. 😅😂🤷

Bring him back! He's my favorite F1 driver by far! It's sad to see him done. So dirty in NASCAR. He definitely is one of the best racers to date. He's in a new sport and could get all the way up into 9th and have so many passes in the rain. Nobody can debate the fact that he can definitely handle a car with quite a bit of power!

NASCAR is as ‘American as Apple Pie’ as the saying goes, much more so than Indy even which welcomes more international drivers…I’m surprised that they were gracious enough to even let him compete all things going on with Russia considered. They even said some kind things about him.

I don’t get all the haters online. Kimi is fun and he can drive. Hope he comes back. Doubt you could see many NASCAR guys handle the precision of many F1 circuits after such little practice in a real race. Go try to drive an F1 simulator vs. a stock car. Good luck.

Stock cars are harder to drive on these courses. Nobody is hating on kimi, just people saying he was in for a top 10 finish when he barely broke the top 20 once the pit cycle was through.

@@jiminycricket1593 If you go further down this comments section alone you will see them. There's one post calling Kimi trash. On other KZbin uploads of Kimi's NASCAR race, there are others saying "See told you. He wrecked the car". They(the haters or NASCAR fans) don't like it that Kimi is getting so much press coverage. What they don't understand is, if not for Kimi racing in Nascar, we the non American F1 fans, wouldn't even be interested to watch. F1 races have been run in my country 20 years ago, so we know about F1. Never heard about Nascar till recently.

To get a top 15 you need to finish the race first. He got his "Welcome back to NASCAR, pal" moment. If he was more defensive he could've should've avoided getting himself between loons and lions like the other 30 something drivers know how, and also learn how to wreck to avoid killing the car against a wall.

He did pretty well. It’s just tough luck he got pushed out the way he did. He will learn more as he races more. Honestly, he is probably still getting used to rubbing people lol Can’t really rub with an F1 car.

I think Kimi probably enjoys this more because the main focus is just racing with less of signing a million autographs and answering a billion interviews every weekend
