Kimberley, thank you for adding tutorials. It always helps to watch someone else and follow along as you are kind enough to share your knowledge with the rest of us who are still learning the violin.

Hi Kim! This was indeed super helpful! I have gradually learned to focus on small segments intensely and really work out the notes at a slow pace, working faster. So it was really great hearing you describe this process. I’m relieved I’m not practicing ineffectively. :) I used to just play a song start to finish and feel discouraged that I couldn’t play the whole thing.

Arwensdorf haha yeah same! This seems to be the most effective way for me at least, so I’m glad it works for you! 😃 thanks for watching!

First, thanks for sharing your music with us! I'm a huge fan of Lindsey Stirling. I've spent quite a bit of time looking for other violinists whose music calls to me like her music does, frustratingly without much success. There are others with a song or two that I've really enjoyed and added to my playlist, but I can truthfully say yours is the only channel other than Lindsey's that I really look forward to new videos on! Second, I have no musical experience at all other than being "forced" to play the recorder in 3rd grade. I don't know if I'll be able to dedicate the time to playing the violin, but I've been interested at least in a few introductory lessons. Do you think any of Lindsey's songs could be a beginner's first one using the Suzuki method? Obviously not played to anywhere near her or your caliber, and without a lot of the finesse. I talked with a local violin instructor, and she said her music was out of reach to start on. Wondering if you agree. I hope there's something, even if one of the lesser known songs, that would be more fun to start with than whatever is usually done. Again, obviously not to its full extent, but at least recognizable, kind of like here how you're saying to simplify things at first.

Wow thank you so much, I really appreciate your support and comments ☺️ I love all of Lindsey's songs too, but I'd say one of her easiest songs to learn is "Song Of The Caged Bird." It's a bit slower and more relaxed than most of her other songs. Let me know what you think! ❤️
