Thank you! I taught for years and you described perfectly, just the way I would show my students :-). There is the right way, and your teacher taught you the right way. It is a lineage of knowledge that we repeat. Aren't violins wonderful? Isn't sound itself wonderful and that we can create beautiful vibrations?

You are a life saver I'm a beginner & I just starting puting my first finger on the strings But i my finger seemed to always hit other string even when I tried adding some modifications on the elbow swing or whatever It didn't seem to help Searched all over KZbin for help but found nothing useful Till I found yours... Turns out I was placing my finger flat on the string ( not a littke tilted towards the left side ) and here I thought my finger was too fat for the violin and was thinking wether its possible for me to continue or not 😂 Thanks for the help and here's a like

Yes, I have a long neck too! I use a Comford Violin Shoulder Cradle :)
