Thank you, SwegMastr!!!! Killing Me Softly is one of my favorite ukulele songs because it just seems to "fit" the instrument so well. Please do let me know if there is anything I can do to help nurture your interest in ukulele.

Mahalo, Raymond!!! I'm glad you appreciate my style of play and I'm even happier to report it's not difficult to learn. Consistent practice plus an equally consistent dose of patience rules the day.

Hi Kimo, thank you very much for all your videos. I like your style of teaching Ukulele. The song Halleluja that you arranged sounds beautiful even on my pono Uke. I learnd it fast. Now I'm learning your Killing me soflty, thats a little bit more difficult. Can you pls help with a tutorial like the one for Halleluja? In this video above it is difficult to see what you do with your right Hand.

Hello, UkuRole!!!!! Your choice of playing a Pono is a very good one indeed. Ponos provide the very best in "VALUE vs cost" of any ukulele I've played. I've played and sold lots of them and highly recommend these great instruments. About Killing Me Softly, I have two recommendations. The first is to learn only the melody all by itself. Then add the appropriate chords ----- and then figure out what right hand technique you will employ. My second suggestion, is to learn another song perhaps a bit more difficult than Hallelujah but not as difficult as Killing Me Softly. Let me know how I can help. Learning Killing Me Softly by watching a video may be a bit too much.

Thanks, Simon! I'm playing a Chinese uke, Leho brand, that is a prototype of their entry into the custom uke market. It's really a fantastic uke and I look forward to helping them develop it further.

Yeah, I am watching very carefully. I think the melody notes are mostly from the A string?
@KimoHusseyUkulele11 жыл бұрын
Yes, you're correct, Rey, a lot of the melody is played on the A string because keeping the melody on this string makes things a lot easier. The lesson is that whenever you learn a new song in which you're wanting to play the melody, choosing the right key is critical. Two criteria I use for selecting the right key are sound and ease of play.

I like it VERY VERY much! Would you please share the chords score...? You would save my time because this is so amazing cover that I have to watch it carefully and write chord-by-chord and note-by-note... :-)

+Jazz Ukulele Twins Thank you, Jazz Uke Twins. I never play from a score or do any tabs or chords for music I do because I'm too lazy. I do this song in the key of F. If you simply download the score, it will provide you all the chords you need. The most you'd need do is transpose those chords to whatever key you choose to do the song in.

+Kimo Hussey All right Kimo. :-) I'll do it and use your video as template.
