Thanks so much Kimo and Zanuck for talking about balance and how the right hand orchestrates the ukulele with harmony, tempo, etc... Your approach to teaching ukulele just floors me. So great! Every time I hear your good advice, I feel like I need to reset my entire previous knowledge and my mind palace. I'm in Canada but I can't make it to Hollyhock this year.

Hello, Peter! Thank you for your post. We love the way we choose to teach because it's so much fun and we do find people embrace the ideas we share. So we're going to continue. I'm sorry we're going to miss each other in British Columbia but perhaps we could visit another time. That would be wonderful!

Kimo Hussey : Hi Kimo! I really like the idea of the Hollyhock retreat this year, but I've got other family commitments (my father isn't well). I've only in the past few months learned about your videos because I signed up for the Hawaii Ukulele group trip from Ottawa, Canada for the end of February 2015. I need to get away! hehe So, I will be in Hawaii then for 8 days with the group under your tutelage. 8-)

Peter Forrest Great, Peter! Then we'll have opportunity to meet and see if we can figure out a thing or two about ukulele. I look forward to that.

I noticed Zanuck was playing a six string when is a ukulele not a ukulele but a small guitar ?

We consider the Kiku an ukulele because it's on a baritone uke body. Probably, though, the best answer to your question is: Whatever/whenever the player wants it to be. Trite but true, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Thanks, Dave, for your inquiry.
