You can defo hear the keyboard parts in the album, it's a really important part of the sound

If you ever feel like doing a follow-up to this video, watch 2 songs after this at the same show: Emperor - Majesty of the Night Sky @ Wacken 2006. You mentioned here that you couldn't really hear the keyboard player. It was definitely a little more subtle in Strength. One of its strongest parts was the "choral" synths during the crazy fast part in the middle. But in Majesty of the Night Sky, it is up front and a key part of the song. And whereas Strength featured more clean vocals backed by the keyboard player's vocals, Majesty is wide open on the screaming growling vocals enhanced by the bass player's signature howling growl vocals. Fantastic stuff.

It is an epic song, but the best live version of this is in the "Emperial Live Ceremony" it has a more clear sound.

Isahn is a great artist very eclectic. Emperor is a pionneer band of the genre.

I want you to react to Mayhem's Freezing Moon Wacken 2004. AAAHHH! I would love to see your face!! The premium KVLT Black metal band!! I prefer Emperor there are more melodic and with less gimmick. It is just a suggestion! I hope the TRVE KULT metalheads won't come at me because Mayhem are not my favorite. Hiiii!!

I know this is not really your kind of music but what I think you can see is that it has seriousness. When you compare it to some other bands which are “all satanic” or whatever you can usually tell that it’s an act or you just can’t take it seriously.
@tarmotyyri67334 жыл бұрын
Almost everything that takes place on stage is just an act regardless of the artist/band in question. Some just manage to make it more believable.
@leto11784 жыл бұрын
@@tarmotyyri6733 Is something being more believable necessarily about faking it better or can it also be that there is more substance behind it? I'm not that familiar with Emperor but it always looks to me that they take themselves seriously. The question is then for me, how much is just facade and how much is this also part of their daily thinking and living, making it genuine.

Emperor is very seiouse an high quality INSTRUMENTAL music at the first. And yes, it is all about Lucifer. Don`t you see it.. (?) Even this amazing song.

I was a bit surprised by the mostly clean vocals in a black metal band & from Norway no less. It's usually anything but clean vocals in black metal regardless of the country of origin. That being said, I find most black metal quite monotonous & repetitive musically, although I like some (symphonic) BM bands like Dimmu Borgir & Mgla.
@Kimobubby4 жыл бұрын
That’s fair

Emperor are symphonic black metal. In the Nightside Eclipse came out in 1994. One of the first symphonic black metal albums.
@laserbeam34014 жыл бұрын
Mgla isn't symphonic black metal. It's atmospheric black metal and there are thousands of atmospheric black metal bands.
@tarmotyyri67334 жыл бұрын
@@laserbeam3401 MGLA is mostly just black metal (or at least they themselves think they are facebook.com/pg/mglaofficial/about/?ref=page_internal although some of their songs are close to atmospheric BM, which is why I put symphonic in parentheses. In hindsight I should have written symphonic BM bands like DB & BM bands like MGLA.
@Luemm3l3 жыл бұрын
this is somewhat surprising, since for example mgla also heavily rely on simplicity and repetition. their melodies are almost all one-note, pretty simple, albeit fast. Emperor has a lot of unusual chords for black metal, sometimes very complex melodies but still works with repetition and bm monotony to a little extent.
