I'm almost at level 148 so I'm not far behind you. Unfortunately I started playing Azur Lane one and a half years after it was released and my 50 plus year old brain took a while to fully understand how to play Azur Lane properly and work all of it's mechanics out. Something most players don't know. Commander level increases the amount of oil you get when buying oil with gems. 50gems = 500+(level x 3) oil.

Started about a month ago and the game is giving me pokemon vibes. Want to collect the ships and having drop only ships to collect is fairly unique for a gacha. Dock space management is harsh coming from other gacha but those same gacha make most char rarities junk so you have a much smaller pool of chars you keep. Op Siren is interesting coming from other gacha, a stamina free mode you can grind while waiting for oil allows you to grind a lot. Lv 93 trying to grind to 100 as fast as can to ramp up the HQ stuff, newcomer missions gave a good kick start but progress slows once you finish them. Recent videos have been very useful for planning grind, already hitting cog array shortages.

I had the same mindset when it comes to this game. My immediate goals is to max all of the carriers for Tech Fleet. I do OpSi daily because it's the best way to get gold prints. I also use OpSi to wait for ships to recover. By the time I completed a few nodes, my ships are ready to go.

Azur lane feels like strategic gardening. Which SHOULDN'T thrill me, but somehow does. I have started and stopped my love affairs with SOOOOO many games while I've continued playing this for years... Meta changes. Power creep happens. Its got all the issues of a LONG game where the programmers just keep trying to keep it fresh. But it keeps being enjoyable.

How is OS annoying if 95% of it plays on auto in background, requiring like 1 click every 10-20 minutes. Only bosses require attention, still its like 1-2 days until you out of them.
