Also, that has ball baring/cam-pin gives it a POF vibe!

I'm always amazed at these intricately machined things designed on a drafting table and not in cyberspace. Gorgeous design.

A forgotten firearm. It did make it into the hands of Marines during WWII. In the later years some had gotten changed into hunting rifles by Winfield Arms. Barrel and bolt are very similar to AR.

Very interesting. Stoner licensed the multi lug bolt from Johnson. What Mr Stoner did with the gas was very innovative but looking at the 1945 Johnson light machine gun that took BAR mags its obvious that the AR-15 calls Melvin Johnson Grandpa.

Beautiful. It's kind of surreal seeing something so similar that you might not give it a second glance in passing, but if you look at it, the differences really jump out at you. The "Uncanny Valley" of rifle components.

Would love to see videos about gauging and checking wear on rifles other than the AR platform. They are the standard these days but there are so many other rifles out there that we use that we need professional knowledge about. Thanks.

Off topic, but do you happen to know who much a firing pin hole can be off center in an AR-15 bolt and still reliably fire off a primer? I make bolts blanks at work on a Tsugami and we've been having some position issues. They only give us .0065" of run out. The measurement is comparing the true position of the firing pin hole in relation to the bearing surface O.D. of the bolt. We deep hole drill the firing pin pocket from the rear and then a form drill finishes it off to depth and creates the firing pin tip hole. You don't see the hole form until you mill out the case head pocket on the sub spindle side. I'm sure they've done testing at work, but .0065" of deviation seems like its a really tight target to hit on a 15x diameter deep hole. I'm wondering if they've got the tolerance set too tight and we're scrapping good parts.
