Brad Mehldau is THE pianist, one of the greatest ever, who dare compare himself to him? Trying to play his music is a brave act but no one equals him never ever.

Are they doing a sort of poly-metric (not polyrhythmic) idea here? Sounds like the bassist/drummer are playing in an alternating 13/8 (8+5) and 14/8 (8+6) and they keep the groove for the "A" while the pianist is in 4/4 playing the melody. The bridge they are altogether... If I'm hearing this right... jeez, man, that's bloody ridiculous. It's tough to let an ostinato (especially one that long) rotate like that... !!!

***** Yeah, I haven't listened to it closely enough to hear if the bassist actually lines up when they all reach 4/4 or if he jumps out of his ostinato mid-completion. I was wrong about the drummer. When it is just the bassist and drummer, he plays along with the bassist, but once the pianist is in he switches over to a 4/4 groove. It's pretty ridiculous. If you end up having an idea as to what the time signature(s) is/are then please share, mate! I listened to it again and it still sounds (to me) like 14/8 and 13/8.

Not bad, but compared to brad meldhau's original version its nothing

barely recognizable, dint like the original and this is just a convoluted mess, maybe stick with the standards, nice drum sounds though
