Biggest surprise for me: the DualSense functionally in Stray. I lost my cat last year and she used to sleep on my chest all the time. When you lay down to sleep in the game, the controller does an incredible job simulating a purring cat through haptics so I placed the controller on my chest and had a little cry. Such a wonderful game.

While I agree with Blessing that the Rykard fight is a great moment, its actually the third Souls game that features a fight based around a specific weapon, so it probably impacted new players more than it did From Software fans. For most of us I feel like we mostly just thought "oh cool, its one of these fights".

I’ve finished all aside from Demon’s Souls and Rykard was the biggest impact for me in the entire game. Yeah, we’ve had boss specific weapons before but this was easily the best execution of it in both gameplay and fanfare.

Spoilers ahead for God of War Ragnarok and Chained Echoes. These are my favorite moments of 2022. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . At the very end of Ragnarok where Freya and Kratos are essentially talking about what to do next after Atreus parts ways. Kratos and Freya are looking over Midgard. The music is so epic. Then you take control of Kratos and as you step forward the credits begin to roll. This will be one of my favorite moments of all time. Now for Chained Echoes. At the end of Act 2, the new Valkyrie leader Maria stabs Lenne through and three Gods called Vaen awaken. Couldn't believe what I was seeing.

I think Elden Ring will win it, Rags coming in 2nd. Mostly because Bless, Barret, Mike of Snow Bike, and Andrew (Nitro Rifle) are all going to put Elden Ring at #1. It's gonna be close.

I WISH I understood what is happening when Tim is saying Pokemon Violet is one of his favorite games of all time and on the other hand The Act Man says it's embarrassing and broken and a disgrace. I'm playing the game now and I'm having fun so far but I haven't gotten to the part where it would even be considered a top game. It's been non-stop jank and ugly for me. I'm just enjoying running around trying to catch 'em all.

I totally get it. I love that game to pieces, and absolutely hate some aspects. The jank is awful, it’s super disappointing visually (aside from character/Pokémon models), and the online is egregious. Still one of the best Pokémon experiences I’ve ever played despite all those things. They nailed so much of what a core Pokémon experience should be, that the joy I get from that far outweighs everything else 🤷🏻‍♀️.

They’re my favorites or the series, but in no way would I ever say they’re better games than 2 - though I think a much better argument can be made for 1 than Andromeda. Both of those just hit in a way that is exactly what I want from that kind of game that 2 and 3 don’t, unfortunately for me haha

God that God of War moment was so hamfisted it was ridiculous, I really dislike how God of War basically went to Pixar's school of emotional manipulation, in the first game I felt many of the emotional moments were earned, in Ragnarok they set things up 5 minutes before simply so they can elicit an emotional reaction because people can relate to the situation(this is emblematic in the opening dog moment and the Atreus and Kratos go home moment)

He didn't call it one of the greatest games of all time, Tim said it's one of his favorites of all time there is a big difference. Avengers Infinity War is one of my favorite films ever but I'm not gonna argue it has the artistic merit of Citizen Kane or a Tarantino film, I just love it because it's the culmination of films that have been in my life since I was 9 years old. Pokemon has been part of Tims's life forever and he says that it's one of the best pokemon games, so like by default it would be one of his favorite games ever.

​Infinity war was a great movie that wasn't broken. It worked exceptionally well as a popcorn flick. The new Pokémon game barely works as a Pokémon game. Pokémon has been a part of my life forever too. I was obsessed with it as a kid. I actually really enjoy Arceus, but found scarlet and violet to be 1 step forward and 2 steps back. Andy, Bless, and Tim were all so over the moon w/ scarlet and violet so I thought I would be too, but I just don't see what they do

I was very disappointed with GOW Ragnorok's storyline. The first half of the game is incredibly slow, to the point where basically nothing happens, and the characterization is barely existant. It also feels like every single section of the game is twice as long as it actually needed to be. It picks up in the second half, but nowhere near enough for me to call it a good story.

During gameplay half the dialogue is literally your companion telling you things like “we can’t do that right now” and the other half is Mimir telling stories about people who aren’t even in the game. During the cut scenes there is basically no character development, especially in the first half where you have spend hours with characters who act like they know everything but don’t actually tell you anything. I don’t consider that good dialogue, it’s actually quite lazy dialogue.
