I would like if it got that extra 500hp and went back to 6.7. I liked playing it vs. early jets. Sure, Ju288 spam often ensures a win which is good for a grinder plane, but those jet matches were much more interesting and satisfying. Reminds me of the old Horten spam from back when it was undertiered and fought props, it was a pain with Bearcats but sometimes it was fun. Horten used to outturn and outrun everything at its br. but its users mainly weren't good, but against many early jets the F2G still has a few advantages. These fights with/against K4-s and Ta152-s just break down to whoever climbs highest at the beginning of the match or whoever can almost instantly win by ticket bleed at low alt-they are not satisfying from either perspective, especially if you play German and 90% of your team are Yolo bombers that die in 2 minutes. Even worse if you get uptiered from 5.0-5.3 and you have no advantages against whatever you're fighting and your team is still useless. If the F2G-s were gone from the 6.0-6.3 range it would be a lot easier for 5.0- 5.3 planes stock grinding with less uptiers.

Il2 is very fun, but doing well in it requires your opponents to not be smart. Thing tops out at like 400kph and can't dive that well either. 1, maybe 2 turns to frag them with your cannon then it's over if they're still up.

The most major downfall is that lack of energy, but otherwise, she can dance around with quite a bit of agility given the bulk of armor (btw that stuff has helped shrug off sprays of 50cal fire from P-40s), and the 23s hit like a bag of cinder blocks and work wonders in head-ons. The 12.7 on later models is nice for keeping Zeros off your tail and most enemies will happily dogfight you, not expecting such a heavy plane to outturn them. Quite frankly, it's one of the only planes I like to fly just to relax and enjoy myself.

upon trying to see what the Yak-3U's stats are before buying I was thinking about: 1. it's a Yak-3 airframe which means it's going to be INSANE and 2. It has an M-82 engine which was the engine of the plane I also liked in Russia, the I-185 M-82 so I instantly thought is this basically a Yak-3 but with performance enhancers on the speed part? A little tip on MEC, (works for most planes but does not fit german engines) Lower your propeller pitch to 85% if you are above 500km/h, it can: 1. Reduce the drag of the propeller 2. Cool down your engine a little bit 3. Since your engine produces less heat when in a low-pitch state, you can also lower if not completely close your radiator to further reduce the drag of your airframe. Then you can push your top speed to the limit. Just remember to reset all the settings to the battle state before you are going to engage the enemies.

Lol you should try the 37mm on LA-200. I have like 15 hours on it so far and it's still like a 30% chance i hit anything. Fire rate and velocity just so low compared to Shvak's. The fact that its faster than basically every plane in its BR and most planes in an uptier match makes up for it tho 😅

I did. But here's the thing, Adam approached it from a far more technical standpoint and it was interesting. Does the Yak 3U outclimb the vk-107, and if so, by how much and at what altitudes? Where does that trade off? Can MEC be used to offset that difference? If so, how? None of this takes away from Defyn's content, and in many ways, would compliment it.

I've always used tracers for the russian shvaks, I don't know why so many youtubers recommend the ground targets because they have a useless AP round in them, plus tracers actually have more explosive in the FI rounds than the HE rounds do

Because the AP-I round for SHvak is kinda good vs bombers (it can penetrate a lot and get to engines/fuel tanks) and other bigger targets, I prefer tracers myself, but I can see the viability of AP-I.

@@J4ckmaestro Ju-288 doesn't climb more often than not, and Yak-3U is fast enough even at 6km and gets there only a tiny bit later than Bf 109K4. Late game some bombers are in space, but some rearm, climb a bit and bomb again. There's also plenty of bomber-attackers like A-26 which is pretty damn tough too. And remember, hunting bombers is sometimes a necessity, because shooting them down early game is a good way to prevent late-game Me-264 in space.

@@J4ckmaestro Snapping wings is unreliable and they are often tricky targets, from some angles engines are preferred. 50/50 AP-I FI-T works pretty good for me, I'm a tracer fan, but I won't be claiming the default belt is bad, because it just works.

5:50 To be fair to that F4U-4B could have just realised he was screwed and tried to grab a kill. At that point I don't think he could have done anything. To the best of my knowledge the Yak3U is fastest on the deck so if he ran you'd have caught him, if he climbed you'd have caught him, he would have lost a dogfight and he didn't have anywhere to dive to.

Could anyone here recommend a Defyn video on how to handle the battle from beginning in planes that perform good on low alts? I sometimes struggle mentally with Yaks. I love these planes but when I climb, its hard to do something sometimes due to low dive speeds. When I try to go 2-3k and try to pick my targest, I'm most often being dived (dove? ) on and I'm not sure what to do in these moments - at least not what's a good practice.

I sometimes wonder if Gaijin shouldn't factor in experience during high volume times. I feel like I'm OP in a lot of 4.0-5.0 shit ... I'm not, the majority of the pool is just "fairly nooby"... it'd be more fun for everyone, it would just increase cue times (god knows we can't have that).
