3!! bro and people always tend to say “That’s their natural skin color” Like girl, they were the same color as a wall last week what do you mean by “natural skin color”? Also, some of those idols were never born with that type of skin color so idk what these kpop stan’s trying to prove when there are so many pictures of these people on the internet when they were kids that proves that these people never had that type of a tan. Tanning is ok, but if it’s to the point where you’re darker than people who have a lot of melanin then that's a problem. Something is off!!

It’s even more weird when non Koreans do it. Like I get that it’s ingrained in certain countries that mandatory military enlistment is a kind of coming of age for but if you’re not from their why do you care? Not saying that ingraining is a good thing it’s just a fact.

Overall, the idea of assigning certain characteristics to kpop idols based on their skin colour is weird. Like I've noticed that idols are often given the role of the sexy member if they have tanned skin and the role of the pure, innocent member if they have pale skin. I've also seen this assumptions being made on korean dating shows like single's inferno. I also think that it isn't wise to label individual choices that idols make that may be deemed as unconvential for some (for example how they express themselves with their body) as being being some political or social statement if they themselves don't state that otherwise.

Sometimes I start to think about how people just stan some groups, or most likely said some MEMBERS because of their visual, not their talent. I've seen lots of these groups that are actually talented but the streams? Quite low. I have to say majority of these groups nowadays have growed because most of the fans only caring about visuals. Companies sending COMPLETE MINORS to get surgery just to get a better image to caught the audience's eye SHOULDN'T be normalized. We could consider they're still young for this yet. Fans shouldn't be talking about "the visual holes" all the time and also focus on the vocals, rap, dancing, and stage presence. If a group had lots of visuals but without that much talent, the streams? They would go HIGH. (I'm not hating on any of these groups, I'm just saying fans shouldn't only focus about looks, or visuals, we get it, it is great for an idol to have a good visual, but seriously, it's not only about that. Consider there are nugu groups out there with amazing songs that are underrated.)

More then visuals it is the companies they debut in or if they have members who had fame before debut or redebut. Like IVE has former IZ*ONE members. Their are nugus with really good visuals like Nana from Wooah, Jinsoul from Loona, Jiu from Dreamcatcher and Yeonhee from Rocket Punch.

Lets talk a bit for the last one please…honestly,idols not going to military and getting a free pass while every other oter guy has to do it in korea…to me is unfair,either remove the law of forced military enlistment entirely or don’t put idols above the law…however what I do find to be a good solution is releasing music during enlistment(ex:BTS)…it helps the idols/groups maintain their popularity while still not being above fucked up korean laws….(victon losing their careers after military still haunts me😕)…

I'm aware Sriya from Blackswan is Indian, a South Asian and she's naturally a darker brown, so the tanned opinion here won't really apply to her because she doesn't need to do it, but what I love about her is that she can pull of cutesy concepts AND mature WHILE being a darker skinned gal! Same with Fatou! (Cat And Mouse) Other kpop companies should take notes. Tanning in itself I don't think is an issue, but it's the way you present yourself while being tanned. You don't have to exclusively be pale skinned to work with cutesy concepts!! Also about KATSEYE, i really think they should go down the 90s R&B/2000s electropop type sound and hip hop choreo route if they wanna appeal to the west. Also i feel like they could go crazier with the fashion. In a world where minimalism has been SO overused, MAXIMALISM might be refreshing to see.

korea should reduce the military service to basic training for everyone wouldnt take up so much time and it worked well for son heung min so why not and i think if the male idols have to do it then female idols as well should at least be given the option. but it wont cause it wants to make life hard for everyone in their country. sure idols gain new skills and experiences but hardly any of bar v actually enjoy their time in the military. then it still ensures a group can remain together cause kpop as a whole has been doing their age restrictions on who can stay as a group until xyz age. i dont know why but i feel like some idol groups aside from what they do would rather stay in their bubble of only doing idol related activities, maybe instead of military service idols should maybe take a month or so off and do some real life activity like for instance daycare or helping people out like what felix has been doing. something good not just music all the time. i think that would be more inspiring. they do that for footballers here where they help out the local community and i like that idea for celebs in general. esp since if they think they can evade military duties then they shouldnt need to do anything other than their dreams to be idol singers / performers. sure people complain about idols overworking themselves but they also complain about idols not getting enough real life experiences outside the kpop bubble.

1. Well, yes! It's impossible to never make mistakes but some idols are failing their voice too much 😅. 2. It freaked me out a lot as well... 3.I've never seen this as much of an issue bc like it's super normal for everyone of every race to tan here and no one cares outside twitter users 😅, but given how they perceive foreigners that might be the case. I don't think that's the case for all idols that tan but definitely that's true for Jessi & ppl alike. I still think it's better than taking those whitening injections, I remember how I was freaked out the day Jinsoul mentioned them and how she saw that as completely normal. 4. Yes, their songs are short as fuck and their concept is both boring and out of place. It's a shame because I kinda like the members (esp. Lara), but considering they're under fatherfucking Hybe that's not surprising. Newjeans is the only Hybe group that I think has a good discography (ignoring Fomos_9) , but even then I've never seen them as this big mousse stans think they are. 5. I agree with this, but there's one idol if i'm not mistaken that was just saying he arrived safe to Japan (there's earthquake alerts there). But it's still weird that half the men in the industry are posting in Japanese, on my twitter there were even people joking that it must be a secret code or something. 6. The korean military is very brainwashy and there's a lot of stories of mistreatment there. I don't stan boygroups but I'd be happy if I knew they don't aggree with that.
