I just found this post last night and got to finish watching it today. You have unique lovely items. I am focusing on making a bulk amount of items to distribute at my local nursing home/ rehab center. I am trying to keep it extremely budget-friendly as I have 102 patients to make things for. I am making prototypes this week to take over to the activity director for him to see. I already know what fall items I am making but I'm looking ahead to Christmas. The tree that's stuck out to me the most was the paper cone that you covered with scrapbook paper circles. I actually have two packages of the exact same scrapbook paper that you have! I have styrofoam trees I bought in bulk. I covered one with regular copy paper, So I would have a good surface to adhere the scrapbook paper too. I know it would be cheaper just to use the paper cone but I want to use a wooden skewer and a little piece of wood to make a stand for the tree. I have to keep in mind that I can't use glass, pins and other items that might be harmful to the patients. I use tape runner instead of a glue stick. I don't have good luck with glue sticks here in Florida maybe because it's so humid. Anyhow I wanted others to know I used one sheet of scrapbook paper for the tree.

@@kindashabby thank you so much for responding! I'm in Central Florida. My tape runners ran out so I started using a glue stick. I am carefully watching that tree to see if it holds up! I have the worst luck using decoupage glue to seal items. I use the heat transfer method when using decoupage glue and it works much better!

I just found your channel!… I am in heaven! Your voice is so calm; your teaching is thorough and not rushed and I believe of all the DIY channels - yours is at the top of my favorites!! This takes me back to my childhood ( I was born in the 50’s and remember our church fairs…my parents were involved in all activities- especially the craft booths with handmade items to sell. That brings my memories of my Dad making small Christmas trees out of rectangle IBM computer cards ( only those of us who grew up in that time period remember the beginnings of computers- and these were monster machines that were programmed by using the cards that had sequences of perforations) So- the cast offs were rolled into cone shapes, attached to a dowel in a stand and spray painted gold. Even then- recycling and creativity were very much in vogue. So- seeing your simple & unique trees gave me a nostalgic look back to my childhood Christmas’s. I can’t wait to make some of these- question is - Which Ones,.

In order for me to earn the use of her machine- I had to cut and sew ( from a pattern) clothes for my Barbie and hand stitch them!! Only then could I really appreciate how special being a sewer was! My Mom grew up 1 of 12 children and she and her sisters all sewed their clothes and them she had her own children and my sister and I were Blessed to have clothes she sewed… including the crinoline skirted dresses! Oh, the memories, indeed!
