There’s a good reason why you’re still on my subscriber list and your crafts today say it all. That pillow is so Farmhouse Chic and perfect for the Fall season. And that bag, that takes so much patience to make, was awesome. Just making the ruffles alone is a huge task. I’m a big fan of ruffler attachments for machines but you chose to do it the hard way and I commend you for that. I may consider trying drop cloth projects in the future because of your video. I’m a mixed media crafter and unfortunately sewing has been put on the back burner for a while now and I do miss it very much. But once again, I’m being influenced by your wonderful talents and pleasant personality to pick it up again. I enjoy your diversity and you’ve taught me so much. Thanks for sharing your talents and ideas.

Who knew drop cloth could be turned in to such beautiful things! 😊 I have a question - do you recommend washing and/or ironing it first?
@kindashabbyАй бұрын
Hello Carol and thank you for your excellent question! I wash my drop cloth twice, each time letting it soak for about 30 minutes in bleach before washing. I also use fabric softener after the first wash only, if I am planning to stamp on the fabric. Once it is almost dry, I give it a good press with the iron, and you’re all set to craft!

Здравствуйте!Скажите, пожалуйста,а какой материал вы используете под штампы?На вид он плотный?)))))Спасибо!😊
@kindashabby2 ай бұрын
Hello Alena! The material I’m using is painters drop cloth that I purchase from Home Depot or Walmart. If unavailable in your area, you can purchase duck cloth from the fabric shop. It is thinner than the drop cloth, but still has a lovely texture. I also like to use fabric ink to stamp the images for washable durability. Thank you!

Hi Becky! I love all 3 projects! Is it real drop cloth that you use - like buying it from a hardware store or is it from a fabric store? The drop cloth that I bought here in South Africa, has a thin (very thin) layer of plastic on one side. I didn't try it yet, but I don't think I will be able to rip it or frey the ends.
@kindashabby2 ай бұрын
Hello Martie, and thank you! I am using hardware store painters drop cloth, but mine is 100% cotton without a plastic liner. You’re right, that type you’ve found will not give the same results. You could also use duck cloth purchased from a fabric shop. It’s slightly thinner, but still has that gorgeous texture!

What does a drop cloth pillow look like after washing?
@kindashabby2 ай бұрын
Hi MaryEllen! I prewash my drop cloth before sewing to avoid shrinking with subsequent washing. Because I have frayed all the edges of this pillow, I will spot clean instead of machine washing. I have other smaller drop cloth pillows with a removable insert that I wash gentle cycle in cool water, inside out, and they wash well. They do need a quick ironing to remove wrinkles, but come out looking great!
@maryellenyork28192 ай бұрын
@kindashabby I guessed they might wrinkle badly, so an insert is a great idea. Thank you. I have never worked with drop cloth but these projects make me think about it.
