Just got back from the OMM in Scotland a broken man so recovering this Monday morning. The x mid is simply brilliant in all respects. Roomy, two porches, non saggy, lightweight and can handle extreme weather no problem at all. In fact its become my all year round shelter now, even in snow with ground anchors and snow stakes. You cannot beat those eastern stakes for good anchoring. Another cracking video from a very lovely lady.

@@Roblovesbushcraft I am very pleased to hear that you share the same appreciation for the Xmid. I’ve really enjoyed camping in my (Diana)! Something quite satisfying about pushing up those poles and seeing it suddenly take shape. A lot of tent for the money with hardly any weight. Happy resting from the OMM! 💪🏻

👍😁👍 Hiya Sarah.. That gave me flashbacks of my windy wet wildcamp with my X-Mid up on dartmoor a month ago 😁 Good little pitch up near Grindsbrook with that great view of the Ridge accross the Vale of Edale 👍👍 Perfect upgrades for your dianna double tie out points on the 4 corners, as mine pulled through in 30-40mph guts so it's good to see yours worked a treat 😁 one thing about this time of year, you get to spend more time in our tents due to the longer nights, which I don't mind at all 😁 great video and takecare Sarah 😁

@SoloSarahBX Almost always wakeup on Kinder clagged in, proberbly 3 out 5 camps.. Can't beat opening up the tent on a clear morning whilst the sun comes up with a brew in your hand after a good long sleep.. During summer I'm lucky if I get 2-3hrs kip before the sun rises up again at 4am 😁 I'll be doing them mods to my xmid Sarah with 2.5mm guyline rope , then hopefully if I'm caught out again in really bad winds mine won't loosen and the fabric flap about alnight 😁 Bring on them still clear frosty mornings, even snow 😁👍 As it happens, I'm actually picking up another tent in the morning to try out this weekend. Not a Durston but a Firemaple 2p 3-4 season in autumn gold.. can never have to many tents 🤣😁 Have a great weekend if your not working.. 😁

Hi Sarah, Seems ages, nice to see you back up in the hills and this time with a couple of fairly anonymous mates. As you say it changes the dynamic of the camp just knowing there's some friendly faces close by. Think I've said before I'd love to find a group that travel up together and then pitch a distance apart so you have the views, the feeling of isolation but knowing company is at hand. Shame you didn't get better weather, but that's the real world and that's life in the words of Led Zeppelin "upon us all a little rain must fall". Anyway I hope your friends weren't put off. Hi its interesting to see you out with people, ive been out with my 20 year old son on the Peaks in August and of course I had none of the usual solo female nerves, so a nice change. Im wondering if that tent holds the warmth in for youif theres a cold wind. We women tend to feel the cold abit more than the chaps!
@SoloSarahBX28 күн бұрын
Hey 👋🏻 I don’t feel much different in the Durston when comparing it to the Soulo with regards to the cold and wind. The tent held steady, poles didn’t slip and I don’t feel a draft from outside when the solid inner is zipped up. Solo female nerves come and go with me, it depends where I am and what mood I’m In or what’s happening in life in general regarding my stressors or anxiety levels. Camping with others melts all of that away ☺️ reassurance maybe? I’m glad you acknowledge this 🙏🏻 male viewers often share that they haven’t yet camped alone as they are too nervous and I’m glad they share that feeling with me too. ATB, Sarah

It's a nice spot there, I've borrowed it too previously. Last Wednesday, I was on the northern side to get away from the 45mph gusts. I don't know if you remember but I said my BA Rapide SL leaked. I've just had my replacement replaced for the same reason. There's been quite a delay getting it as there's been a redesign. There's no Primaloft, it's more compact, lighter and a higher R value. It seems more crinkly and I'll be testing it on Friday. Hopefully it will last more than 6 months (35-40 nights). Great video as usual. Keep getting out there.
