Love all of your videos on CLE, I wish more KZbinrs were putting out videos on this curriculum. This is my 3rd year home schooling. I started out with CLE and tried a bunch of other things my second year but came back to CLE because it is simple yet solid. I also taught one of my children to read with their leaning to read program and plan on using it for my younger 3 as well.

Hi Dana, Thank you so much for your videos You have been such a helpful resource for me in this journey of homeschooling my children I could use your guidance My daughter will be 4 in just a couple of months. She has done CLEs preschool already and we are working our way through rod & staffs ABC series. She knows all of her letter sounds and can read some 3 letter words. Do you recommend I order CLEs kindergarten or is the rod and staff suitable as kindergarten ? Did you use both rod and staff AND cle kindergarten with your child? I saw of video where you did a flip through of the ABC series but I also noticed that you have the kindergarten curriculum. Just wondering if I need to order this for her. Thank you

Hi! ❤️ We jumped around with both the Rod and Staff and CLE depending on what we needed review on. As soon as she is done with the Rod & Staff ABC series, she should be able to jump into CLE’s Learning to Read program! You can see a sample of what the first unit looks like on CLE’s website, if you want to get an idea of where she will start out in the program. It starts out gently, but can build quickly once you get to the 3rd-5th light units. I hope this helps! ❤️

I fully agree with you about K Math, especially since CLE Math 1 starts out at the very beginning. If you are somewhat interested in doing a formal curriculum I think you might like Math with Confidence

Would you say Learning to read is good for a young 1st grader? I’m worried it’ll be too hard/take longer for my young k twins. They just turned 6. But finished K last year.

The first few units are very simple, so I would say go ahead and purchase the first three units and see where you are at. That way you can try it out!❤️

Do you think that cle language arts takes a lot of time? I want to give it a try but we used cle math with my other child and it was way too much every day. Just too many pages and problems. I don't want to end up crossing out a bunch of work, but it seems like the best fit for my firstie.

It has a lot of problems, so if my little one has the concept down, we do skip some of the addition and subtraction problems. :) I like that is has enough so if we are struggling, we can have the option to practice. Plus the curriculum is more affordable, so I don’t feel bad if I need to cross out a section. ❤️

Straightforward, open and go, not teacher intensive, very sound and solid, overall incredible!
