I am going back to school to earn a second bachelor's degree and the cost of digital textbooks via Amazon is about 1/3 the price I find on campus. So that coupled with the relatively low cost of a Kindle has changed the way I will do things now. I used to be snooty about e-readers too, but not anymore!

As soon as I received my kindle i went to amazon's website and asked if they could removed the ads. I didnt pay anything and it was so fast. ♥️ thanks for this vid very helpful.

FIRST! So for anyone who reads both standard size paperbacks and the kindle, I purchased a Book Beau Mini which is a book sleeve with a zipper on top. I have one in the Jumbeau size (it will fit the largest of the HP books and IT by Stephen King) also which I use for my iPad lol

So I had Amazon remove ads and it shows on my account that they did so… I also restarted my kindle a few time but still don’t have the option to set my book as the cover… please help.

You can highlight and take notes on a Kindle. I do it on mine all of the time.

Oh I'm aware, thank you :) I just prefer to handwrite my notes rather than type them so physical books work best for me in this case!

I got my kindle Paperwhite refurbished so I only had one option as well. Mine is the original kindle Paperwhite from 2013, but I got it in 2019. I didn't pay to get the ads removed, I contacted Amazon and told them that I didn't have the option to get it without ads, so they removed them for free. I got them removed to be able to display the cover of the book I'm reading on the lock screen. Since my kindle Paperwhite is the first generation Paperwhite, it doesn't support that feature.

It’s 79.99 the kindle paper white on Amazon. I am undecided to buy it. But it’s a temptation,. My problem is that I used PDF books on Google Drive. I don’t have e-reader yet. What do you recommend me with that offfer, from 129 to 79.99 dollars ?

Just so you know, the kindle can read PDF books without you having to convert them to another format.

Your kindle will get a unique email address you can email PDF files to so they will load directly to the device.
