Tip for library books. If you turn off wifi after you download the book from the library it'll stay on your Kindle until you turn wifi back on.

What that’s amazing!! Thank you for the tip! I noticed sometimes they’d stay for longer but didn’t realize it was wifi!

Yep, they send the signal to take it away, and the book becomes available for others to borrow, but until wifi is turned back on it hangs around on the Kindle giving extra time if you need it. Don’t turn that wifi on because they’ll take it away pretty quickly lol!

Does the library charge a late fee if you do that?

@@robertb67 nope. The “book” is able to be loaned out to the next borrower as normal. As far as they know it was removed from your device - and it is as soon as connection is restored.

If it’s a really popular book, and you’re feeling particularly generous, you could download the book, kill your wifi, then login to your account on a computer to return it early for the next reader.

Thanks for the ad removal tip. I did not have the option to remove it on amazon's website (which was weird), so I just told the customer service that that and they had it removed from free.

@@Baileyrobersonthey flat out refused me. I went round and round. Nice as can be. When he said he had to end the chat if there was nothing else I asked that he remove the ads and I’d pay. He did. They were removed and I immediately asked for a refund. He said they would come back but others said they don’t come back. He said there’s no possible way I can remove adds without a $20 fee. Liar 🤥

Nice video! I just bought a refurbished Kindle Paperwhite that was supposed to have no ads. Well, it did. After reading reviews I called Amazon support and supposedly the ads were removed. I checked Amazon and it does show that. However, the ads still show up and I have to swipe to get to my books. I went through several times of restarting my Kindle, while the rep was on my phone, and they still showed. I had to go to work, so he said he will call me tomorrow. I just think Amazon should turn the ads off in such cases before the customer even uses their product. It's just a click on a setting. Anyway, I learned a few things from your video and will be trying them, so thank you for doing this! I did set mine to dark mode (I'm a night owl) and even in daylight it feels better for my eyes. My previous Kindle is a gen 3, so I have new things to explore!

Hello. Do you have a kindle paperwhite signature? Or just a paperwhite? I am going back and forth on whether or not I should pick one up from prime day but I want to make sure I can do the lighting schedule on a normal paperwhite? Or do I need the signature edition?

No you do not have to pay monthly to be able to read! That’s only if you want kindle unlimited. I use the Libby app to read for free!

No you don’t have to sign up for kindle unlimited! And Libby is the only one I know of, but there may be different apps like that in different countries!

Unfortunately you are not able to transfer hoopla books to your kindle :( you either have to read them on your phone or just listen to the audiobooks!

Mine displays the kindle logo when the book cover isn’t on! You shouldn’t still be seeing the ads if they said they removed them!

Hi, Some very good information, but I could not tolerate you're sing song manner of speaking, any longer so I had to cut your video short. It began to grate on me. Let me share with you something very important when it comes to public speaking. I learned this probably in the first week of speech class at DePaul University in Chicago, or it could have been at the Dale Carnegie course in the Palmer House in Chicago. It was the public speaking course by Dale Carnegie. This was 1967 and I still remembered plain as day now. " Never let the manner, distract from the matter.
