Malcolm: 'That came naturally, that's a gift. I had to work to read.' No truer words in 2020! l work with children with learning disabilities. I'm going to hang HIS words and photo in my school! Going to purchase his books for our school library! Tears.

These lessons are not just for children, they are for everybody. I'm 59 this year and I anxiously look forward to his next segment and hope he never stops doing these. He is truly a national treasure. I love that he includes his children too, both such beautiful children and you can feel the kindness he and his wife have instilled in them.

My husband and I are 58 and 59 and since it was snowing in southern NH this May morning, we lazed around, sipping coffee and binge watched some of this series, the best thing on TV right now. Steve and his kids and their stories are so sincere and real and without hype it's like a balm for the soul. Inspiring for all ages; it's never too late to change or improve yourself. We were already kind people but we've been encouraged to be more optimistic, honest, courageous, not give up on our purpose, and so on. Keep going!!

One thing I love about Steve’s interaction with his children is that he is never uncomfortable or even embarrassed by any slightly weird thing that his kids might do or say. And all kids say and do things that are different than what we adults would do. Some people react to that gap as if it is weird. That is a great challenge for all parents. His reactions of pure acceptance tell his kids that his love is unconditional, that he loves them no matter what. If you want you children and later, your teens, to talk to and with you, show them acceptance when they’re a bit different or goofy when they’re younger. It will pay off.

I’ve been enjoying and appreciating each lesson. The episode I watched today included the graceful and lovely ballerina 🩰 of 7 decades. Here in Milford, Connecticut we have an amazing ballerina named Debra Marchese, who directs and teaches people of all ages and abilities. The Adaptive Ballet program provides a comfortable, yet appropriately challenging environment for people with Intellectual and Physical Disabilities to interact and express themselves through dance. The main performance is the yearly production of the Adaptive Nutcracker Suite. Officially, the Adaptive Programs are part of the Milford, Connecticut Recreation Department. Ballerina Mentors from local Dance Companies volunteer to guide and model the participants through the process. It is an amazing program, and I hope that you would discover the magic created by celebrating diversity. Perhaps you might consider a lesson inspired by this heart-warming community celebration of the value of Individuality. 🤟🏼💕

Gosh it’s too bad Charles has all that love in his heart but won’t share it with say...underprivileged children who have no dads, serving others in some small way. I can’t imagine that his sweet Louise would want him just sitting around pining for her! It looks like she was a fine woman and worthy of such devotion but you can give some of that love to a kid whose dad is in prison, is a drug addict, is abusive...couldn’t you? I bet she would be real proud of her man for not wasting that love on someone who’s no lonher around to appreciate it but instead pouring it out on a humanity that is crying out for just a small measure of affection. Steve maybe you could introduce him to that wonderful bus driver who gives so much to those little children. Who say he’s the dad they wish their own could have been!

While a newly delivered parent tended to a newborn asked her ten-year-old to answer the ringing front door, who is it dear? the boogeyman, came a reply, what do you mean, well he has blond hair and white circled eyes, and orange tinted skin, oh that’s just the President of the United States, let him in…
