Rather than rotating the animated mesh, its better to lock the ground reference and camera to a null and level them off as its more natural to light, add other elements and less confusing if you have to pass the scene on to others.

I like your process for ipi and thank you for making that part easy. For the tracking and minor edits of the rig, I would use Blender 3D. Which also gives you control over the lighting and pretty much everything else prior to After Effects. You could set markers on the floor and also the wall, which can be calculated as empties in your scene. This would make things easier for placing your imported rig. I would use AE last for for finalizing the video. Blender can export to different types of formats but you have to know what you're doing.

Hey for scaling the model just hold and click the object button (the cube looking thing) on the left side and it will drop down to a list. Click the cube with the film stip and you will be able to scale it no matter your project settings

thank you very much! extremely interesting and helpful. i am going to try something similar, but using blender and fusion a kinect v2 (and eventually two or more kinects). getting the shadows right strikes me as one of the more difficult operations, as well as matching the lighting. it is also interesting that the C4D-AE pipeline was more complicated than you had hoped (that was my impression, anyway) and you had to find workarounds that always consume more time. this invariably seems to happen!

@RedBellyMedia3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, unfortunately this method won't work with a ps eye camera as it doesn't give you an infrared depth output. Go and check out your local video game stores and try find a pre owned kinect, in Australia we can get them at EB games for $4.

This is very unreliable and doesn't have the perfect detail whereas professional mocap is life-like and it is more accurate at tracking where you are moving
