Kinefinity MAVO LF First Impressions

My first impressions of the Kinefinity MAVO LF! 6K Large format Cinema Camera.
Ive had my MAVO LF for about a month now, as it was delivered just before Christmas 2018 by ProAV. and I recorded this video early in January.
Ive since shot alot more with this camera and LOVE it.

Finding videos with footage from this camera is incredibly hard. If you could do some real time footage videos I think a lot of people would appreciate it!

Hi! I have a short test film available to view on my channel. Will be sharing more as soon as i am able! There is also test footage available through ProAV and Kinefinity websites aswell as some from Philip Bloom and also in the kinefinity facebook group! Hope that helps!

The tactile feel may seem minor, but as these little things add up they start to subtract from the overall quality of the camera. Keeping in mind that a camera is more than just the final image. You could have the world's best picture but if it ends up being bulky and so heavy you need a packmule to carry it around, its not going to be used very much.

The MAVO LF is extremely compact and light! And honestly the feel of the buttons im used to now and dont find them to be an issue at all

what mainstream feature films were shot on Kinefinity MAVO LF?

Define mainstream? as of yet? i cant think of anything thats been in the cinema shot on the LF. im sure it will happen given time. Same as with the URSA Line it took a little while!

@@AshConnaughtonDP mainstream defined, for example-- "Mad Max Fury Road" uses Blackmagic Design cameras for many of its stunt shots; the creators of "Brainchild" use the Panasonic AU-EVA1 5.7K for Netflix Original series; Canon C500 for "Saturday Night Live" with AJA Ki Pro Quad for 4K ProRes workflow; Criterion Collection of Steven Soderbergh's "Che" with Red One camera. Yes, I agree it will be some time for mainstream products of certain pedigree to appear that features the MAVO LF.

is the quality of the LF and 4k the same ? apart from the sensor on the one being massive?

The Mavo and Mavo LF both have more dynamic range than the terra 4K, and more options in terms of resolution and frame rate

Hi! so far i love the camera! i dont feel either of the oversampled modes have more DR. in terms of ND it really does depend on the shooting environment. being large format and dual ISO the camera is very flexible!
