thanks for another good review, Dave. i have a set of the phoenixcall and use them with my HiBy FC6 and Cayin RU7. They are on the bright-side, indeed, I am somewhat treble sensitive but I enjoy them periodically for only about 1-hour at a time. it's a signature that is different than everything else i have, but they are pretty.

The mids seems really recessed on the graphs that I have seen. I like that they are not standard Harman, but the treble seems a bit uncontrolled. Thanks for the solid review.

I bought these for my mom as a mothers day gift mainly because of how good they looked. Like you said they are not very natural in their presentation, but they are exciting. I put a Wavelet EQ on these on my mother's phone, and with it, it's surprisingly decent. I was able to fix the mids and not completely fix the unnaturalness in the treble but still better. My mom switched from some really bad earbuds so even without EQ she said these were amazing but she was able to confirm that with EQ they sound good. If you are buying these and you don't use EQ, I'd give them a 3.25/5. As a gift iem they are very good mostly due to how good they look imo. With EQ they are a 4/5 for me. (for the price)

Ohh I was waiting for this review from you! PhoenixCall vs Timeless?
@TheHonestAudiophile Жыл бұрын
Timeless is more neutral leaning and the PhoenixCall is more V-shape. The PhoenixCall is more elevated in the mids and treble and have a more aggressive presentation. The PhoenixCall have a lot more bass impact. The Timeless are more controlled, detailed and resolving.

GM ☕️…..KINERA ..hasn’t had the best luck with their more “affordable “ products….🤔 And ..they can be picky on sources . Now , for the price ..quite the technology. Something to see what the new year brings. Have a great day 😎

Totally agree 💯 Technology is interesting for sure.

what do you think about the clarity of the sound? im triying to beat my Kz AS10 they are not perfect but i love the percibed crystal clarity of the audio, what do you think of the kinera in comparison?, if you have tried them of course.

Vs the Shanling Sono?
@TheHonestAudiophile Жыл бұрын
Sono is warmer, less v-shaped, has more bass impact, isn't as forward and aggressive in the mids and treble. Sono has slightly better tone and timbre. Detail retrieval and resolution is slightly better on PhoenixCall.
@rajeebdas1724 Жыл бұрын
Thanks man.. I guess the Sono will do better as a long term companion... Do you reckon it'll be a good complementary iem to my Titan S?

@@rajeebdas1724 Sono would be a fun alternative to the Titan S.

how is this for gaming (valorant mostly)
@TheHonestAudiophile10 ай бұрын
I've not played Valorant. I mostly play racing sims and sports games and for those the PhoenixCall is alright. A touch too much treble and aggressive presentation for my little gaming experiences.

Worth it if I have the quintet?
@TheHonestAudiophile Жыл бұрын
Not unless you want an aggressive v-shaped sound that is less detailed, less resolving, source and genre picky IEM.

Thx Dave. I had my eye on these but it sounds like they wouldn’t suit my library. Grateful for your well- considered opinions on these things so I can save a few bucks.😅 Keep up the good work! 👍🏽

They're pretty decent for metal and rock but can be a bit on aggressive side.

@@TheHonestAudiophile thanks for the quick response. Would Shanling Sono be better than Phoenixcall for metal and rock?
@TheHonestAudiophile Жыл бұрын
@eeshandev5081 Yes, I'd rather use the Shanling Sono for rock and metal. If you want old school bass, the 7hz Legato.
