Hello Why is the area taken as l² and not 6l²?

Area is l*w so its more like m^2 and the the 2l which we used in v equation is for calculating time t from the velocity equation. For the molecule to strike face a again(for second time), the molecule will go to side b and come back to side A, for coming back to side A the molecule travel total distance of 2l. Its like a shop is away 4 km from your home so when you go to shop and comes back the total distance you travel will be 4+4= 8km.

we are taking the total volume of the cube that is L*W*H, or we can say if area is l*w a surface which is 2 dimensional while when we multiply the high (the 3rd dimension) this becomes volume. (gas molecules moves freely and expands to occupies what ever space is available in the container.) so we can say the volume of the container is equal to the volume of the gas.
