Kinetic Type Series® - 5 reasons to respect Comic Sans
Comic Sans was created by Microsoft designer Vincent Connare in 1994,
intended for use in comic-style dialogue balloons in the program Microsoft Bob. In that specific context, it was quite right. The problem is in the misuse of it.
Here are 5 reasons to respect Comic Sans:
✨One: Comic Sans is dyslexia friendly.
Many people with dyslexia describe comic sans as a powerful assistive tool.
✨Two: Easy to read.
While many fonts use similar shapes to create different letters, Comic Sans uses few repeated shapes,
creating distinct letters. Form should always follow function in any given design. Remember that!
✨Three:
I hate bullying. Comic Sans was created by Vincent Connare. And Mr. Vincent and his work deserve respect.
✨Four:
The designer of Comic Sans was intending to do something different, noticeable. And he succeeded like a boss in that respect.
✨Five:
Mr. Connare designed the font without previous sketches and with a mouse. That's epic.
