lol I'm a college student and did that exact experiment you last mentioned. with the same results, I wish we would have used your calorimeter! Our professor had us take 12 total trials.... and deciding between the data to use has become a nightmare!!

So the dye appears blue because the molecules of the dye absorb light waves that have the same wavelength as light waves that diffuse the colour orange?

What is the bleach used in this experiment?

It was standard household liquid bleach, which in our location is typically a 6% sodium hypochlorite solution.
