First time I saw king I watched a guy walk out on stage with an AK, I had no idea what was going on. I kept looking at it thinking it was replica or a prop... no it was real, but safety was on and the guy knew how to handle his firearms and didn't muzzle anyone. After hearing this, I would feel safer at a king show than any other concert.

I know this video is old but i am from chicago around that time we had a major gun issue any person would react quick when hearing about guns or seeing one king 810 wasn't the only group/artist that had their shows cancelled 2016 not many bands would come tour here cause of how strict Chicago was at the time when i seen king 810 for the first time in 2018 it felt great seeing them and although we have issues with guns some laws have passed and yes obviously to carry a gun you need to licensed and Chicago is getting better for many of those thinking bad or saying oh but this and that no like any other place we as well have our bad. Mr. Gunn...I will say that as an anti-gun violence activist here in Chicago, I find King 810 fascinating, and I would count myself as a fan. I can understand that your music, lyrics, and imagery emanates from specific cultural experiences, and growing up on the southside of Chicago in the "Wild 100s" I can appreciate that. However, it also bears mentioning that when that show was cancelled, Chicago was in the wake of one of the most violent years in modern city history. As a result, no one, particularly venues, wanted, nor still want, to be associated with the glorification of violence. It's a tough spot for Thalia Hall to be in, and I actually wanted to go to that particular show. I would be interested in hearing your views (I'll have to look around and see if you've already expressed them) on the violence in Chicago, as well back in your hometown, and more specifically, what can be done to change it. I view you all in the same vein as NWA; "street reporters"...but how do we move beyond that to fixing the problem? Thoughts?

This band seems way to impressed with they're history of "struggle" growing up in Flint, almost seems as though their pride for Flint Michigan exists primarily because of it's violent history. it's not as if Flint Michigan is surrounded by a great wall preventing people from re locating, they're are people all over the world that cross oceans and borders in order to flea from they're war torn country's as Refugees. these guys could likely have walked into a safe neighborhood in under one hour at anytime during they lives. it's seemingly primarily a white band, so the idea that they can claim some kind of in escapable connection to a violent hood. is honestly laughable.

Half of the citizens did in fact leave, I actually know quite a few people here in Portland who moved from that hell.
