Its amazing how much this kind of music can help when you're in a bad head state. In my case, when the intrusive thoughts, memories of abuse and dysphoria hit me like a bus. I can only hope that voice training and testosterone will one day give me a voice even half as hard hitting as the King's.

I just want to point out that the entire second verse was lifted from a song from their very first record - Anachronism. The song I'm referring to is (Untitled). Not saying it's a bad thing, just wanted to share.

just randomly heard that today while listening to untitled and i was so blown away by it..because i think it's awesome..i don't like him reusing 'its the motherfuckin boogeyman'..because it's just overused by now..but I love things like this..like actually reusing lines or riffs from older/demo songs..the beginning in "give my people back" is pretty much a new 'version' of "dragging knives" and in one song he's reusing a line from "Magician" and i just love that kind of shit because you don't notice some of these things when you first listen to it. And I also noticed that the "eyes" music video has a scene for this reused part from untitled.."all alone with the oceans moan skipping stones with her ghost"..david's doing that at the end..and during the song he's skipping a stone..but the ending is more fitting of that line. I was genuinly blown away by that today and I came here to see if anyone else noticed that :D

Tom Weber "Give My People Back" is actually more similar to "Dragging Knives" than you think! Listen to the overall structure of GMPB, how it has a hard intro, the verses are accentuated by the drums, and then the way the bridge leads into the chorus. I think that was Gunn's throwback to one of the best songs on Midwest Monsters. I actually didn't notice he had lifted a line from Magician, good catch! As for the the Boogeyman line, I also believe it's overused, but it is definitely a badass line. I wouldn't mind if it was only used once per album, maybe? If even that? But it's used on a few songs every album and it's getting tired.
