King Arthur was a legend of medieval Britain who embodied the great virtues of Knighthood.
Medieval knights of his time lived by a strict a 'Code of Chivalry', which set out the laws on how a knight should conduct himself in society and on the battlefield.
When these virtues are observed together, the modern knight can discover the value, and power, of chivalry today.

the complete version of this is: "Inside the table's circle, Under the sacred sword. A knight must vow to follow The code that is unending, Unending as the table- A ring by honor bound. A knight is sworn to valor, His heart knows only virtue, His blade defends the helpless, His might upholds the weak, His word speaks only truth, His wrath undoes the wicked. The right can never die, If one man still recalls. The words are not forgot, If one voice speaks them clear. The code forever shines, If one heart holds it bright."

These knightly virtues are a gift to mankind, for the fullness of their life’s meaning, purpose, and goodness. Life is dear, but what makes it worthy of living, more dear still. Worthy of sacrifice, pain, and death itself… such a gift requires Virtuous men, gallant and joyous to its defense.

Everything is said correctly. Only when you have all the qualities listed at once: hope, kindness, generosity, mercy, courage and self-righteousness, then this is underestimated and you receive complete contempt, hatred and envy of evil people. It’s not for nothing that sinners do everything, trying to harm and destroy the lives of righteous and talented individuals only because they do not have any of the virtues and live solely for pleasure and trips to beauty salons, and consider the development of intelligence a waste of time...

Hm, I'm doing a PhD in medieval romance, something that I also have multiple other degrees in, so this is something I know a great deal about. Most of these are functionally correct in their content, but a few miss the mark; such as humility, as that is often quite dicey in Arthur's court. It's worth remembering that most of the medieval Arthurian works were more about the failings of Arthur's court, their essential humanity, and thusly the performativity inherent in chivalry, rather than its being some sort of glorious golden age. Whilst the impression of Arthur did exist, especially in the court of Edward III, it doesn't truly become common until the Victorian romance renaissance. Some characters escape this, for the most part, until their eventual downfall; such as Lancelot, until the build up to his great disgrace and Arthur's fall. Even Gawain, debatably the most courteous of the Round Table in the English tradition, frequently fails to live up to his own standard of chivalry. This is very evident in the very same title you have selected as a source: Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, in which he self-consciously makes it very clear that to be 'Gawain' traps oneself within a living performance, an act that burdens the man beneath and results in instances of failure. As to Arthur, he is frequently proud, occasionally prone to excess violence, and makes decisions in haste as a habit that often leads him and those whom follow him in situations that place their chivalry or their lives in peril. The lesson to take from chivalry and from Arthur, is that to be a Knight of great virtue and chivalry is to perform. A standard must be set, by yourself and for yourself, and then carefully worked toward and maintained. Failure is to be expected, but it's in the ability to recognize that failure, and then learn from it, that separates Gawain and Lancelot from Sir Whoyawattsit. I'd recommend reading The Book of the Order of Chivalry for a practical, easy to read, guidebook to what it is knights actually believed about knighthood, and the rules and customs therein. As to Arthur and the Round Table, the best book that acts as a sort-of catchall for Arthuriana (considering there are hundreds of romances that make up Arthurian myth) is Le Morte Darthur by Sir Thomas Mallory; it's a gorgeous read, and very enjoyable, that tells the entire story of the rise and fall of the Round Table, as interpreted by Mallory from a wealth of contemporary texts. Feel free to shoot me questions.

@@klayalhourani9549 I don't tend to blog or forum chat, but when it comes to being a better person my philosophy can best be distilled down into a few simple thoughts. Most revolve around listening to others, acting with an awareness of one's own dignity and with respect for others, and trying to enjoy oneself without that coming at the expense of others. Mostly, I find, it comes down to a choice, one that you might face once or twice an hour, or perhaps once a week or month; whether to act or react to a person or situation with patience and understanding, or with sensationalist disregard in a crude rush toward self-gratification. The more the former is acted upon, the likelier it will become a reflex habit. The trick is in recognizing when the choice is being made, and taking the time to make it with full understanding of the parameters and consequences. The advantage to getting into the habit of thinking about things in this manner should well be self-explanatory. It also comes with the self-conscious acknowledgement that all behavior is to some extent performative: if you want to be Gawain, then be Gawain, until it becomes you.
@WailOfDoom

@@klayalhourani9549If you want to become a better man, then Mr. Peterson offers the golden rule. Have the ability to be violent, but do not act on it unless absolutely necessary. That means you are powerful, but tempered and merciful, and not weak. Always be accountable for your actions, take blame for what you have done wrong, this shows you understand your own failings and in turn will improve to not make them which will make you stronger than most men. Carry on your shoulders burdens of life with grace as the Romans put it. Lastly, treat every man with a base respect due to all.
