@MandyJMaddison2 жыл бұрын
Cathy Wilson, I am going to correct you here, and I hope you will be interested, rather than offended. Terminology- What Big Ben does is toll. When the bells known as the Westminster Chimes play, and all that sound automatically on the hour, or the quarters, is "chime". Carillons that play tunes also chime, whether they are playing automatically, or someone is playing them from a manual or keyboard of some sort. A peal has a specific meaning. It is when a group of bell have been hung so that they swing, and are played by a team of ringers. Ringing a peal requires training, and whenever they are rung,there is a Master of the Bells who directs the order in which they are played. The bells themselves are called a peal. The City of London, within a small area has an amazing twenty peals of bells, including the famous Bow Bells, the Jubilee Bells at St James Garlickhythe, and the Bells of St Pauls Cathedral. The number might be from five to 12, and occasionally more.

I was the same but I think King Charles acted just like his mother would have! It must have been very emotional for the member’s of the Royal Family, having lost the Queen very recently! I’m sure she is looking down on them with Prince Philip at her side, very proud of how they have taken over their new role’s. Just like their great teacher, the late Queen, they are dedicating themselves to a life of service and duty. My thoughts go out to all of the fallen warrior’s, the world over, who sacrificed their lives to service and duty, to protect and uphold, the values of their country, their efforts will never be forgotten. My sympathies also go to the families, who lost loved one’s, as they showed great bravery, to keep people and nations around the world, in a safer place. My heart goes to all the people, who sustained terrible injuries, leaving many disabled. Also, to the the people who served in combat, that are suffering with silent injuries, that cannot be seen, yet they too need our thoughts and prayers! We all need to remember all of these thing’s and learn from their sacrifice’s, that not one single person has died, in the effort’s, so that everyone, the world over, must continue to come together and be tolerant of the difference’s, between nations and accept we are all different, in one way or another, yet through the correct dialogues and understanding of each other, we can find peace for everyone! RIP take care everyone and think of the people, who have sacrificed so much, serving and carrying out their duty, to their nations, so we may live a better life. 🦋🌸🏴🌸🇬🇧🌸🇺🇸🌸🦋🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
