Up close, they just looked incredible, not a stitch out of place. And the architecture is fairytale beautiful. The Forests around Stuttgard are so sumptuous. The accommodation pristine. The food ... even sold on the street... is five star good. Even at petrol stations there are buffets that would be in place in a good hotel. If you can speak rapidly without letting them get a word in edgeways, you've cracked it. For someone with his privileged life, he should be much better educated than he actually is. He bandies words, like democracy, about and there's been precious little of that in evidence in either Germany or the UK in recent years. He's not even the genuine King. Uncrowned with a crown that hasn't belonged to the UK for 800 years and without the real Stone of Destiny upon which to be crowned, it's no wonder his mother didn't sign her coronation oath correctly. His whole family are literally German, so obviously he speaks it. The house of Windsor was called the house of Saxe-Coburg and Gothe and spent most of their time in Hannover (Up until the unification of Germany in 1870) and was called as such, embracing their German ancestry until 1917 when King George V (His grandfather literally didn't even speak English) changed it for obvious reasons... So of course it's better, Merkel has no English roots, he just speaks both of his native tongues.

Fluent German? He reads what‘s in his script and one can easily tell that he is not familiar with quite a few words. Be that as it may. It's the gesture that counts. So, thank you very much, Charles! Besides, his German might actually be better than Olaf Scholz‘s English. I find it a bit embarrassing that German politicians tend to speak German abroad, even where English is largely spoken. Should become mandatory for them to speak at least two foreign languages fluently. Wouldn’t be a big loss if that reduced their number. 😮

His father spoke German as a first language. The thing is Charles served in the Navy so he didn't get to develop it, had he been in the army he'd be fluent in whatever dialect they speak near Hannover

his pronounciation is way better than just reading off a page, even if its not direct spelling. The guy learned german either early in life or had an amazing accent coach. the words he struggles with are not the type of words u use in casual conversation
