I've lost my mother and I can sincerely say, it's one of the SADDEST days in a person's existence... The King looked really sad and emotional. And you know? That is the best ... That is the way to honour Queen Elizabeth. Showing how much he will miss her, as the whole nation will also.

As an American I must say I am very impressed and moved. I think the British people needed their King at this time. To greet as many people and shake their hands as he did was an example of the kind of King he will be. In America we share our ancestry and history with our mother country. The closest thing I have seen to this on this side of the ocean was the honor and respect that JFK got when he was assassinated. This is very touching. Great Britain, the people of the U.S. are with you.🇬🇧

It is sad indeed. She was always there as a child growing up... I can't get over how much Charles is like his Dad, Prince Phillip. It must have been hard for the Queen, after Phillip died just 17 months ago, the love of her life, to see Charles daily and be always reminded of Phillip. He walks like Phillip did, in the bent slightly forwards manner and so many of his charcteristics are Like hs late Father. What Teresa May said was nice..."May she rest in Peace and Rise in Glory."

Even if the mother dies at 96, it does not change the fact that she was loved and is now bitterly missed. The king certainly realised at the burial of his beloved mother, our revered queen, that his youth has now definitely come to an end. That hurts! God be with you, Your Majesty, and give you comfort!

@@florenceferdinand4717 When Diana died, I was also deeply upset about what I thought was the family's "slight" of the Princess of Wales. Later information has shown that the queen was so deeply focused on her grandsons, that she didn't see how things were being seen. She did what she could to make amends by paying tribute to Diana before (and during) the funeral. As for the rest, all I can say is "recollections may vary."

She was wearing Balmoral Tartan, the only Tartan created by a Royal family member, it was created by Prince Albert when he bought the Balmoral estate for his wife Queen Victoria. It's so crazy that she was wearing a Garment that was designed and gift for another Queen, a garment that is part of her lineage and heritage. It is crazy how life works out!
