Amazing shots of king crab being fished and an expert tells how they are caught. Filmed on location in the Arctic Circle. Great video.

I'm from Kodiak, Alaska, which used to be the king crab capital of the world. Even when I'm back home, king crab is still very expensive. Usually $20 for 3 legs or so. When we go commercial salmon fishing in the summer, we usually set a few pots and get it the crab for free, fresh and free. Always the best.

Very sustainable approach. Good to see. Quality and sustainable fishing, over strictly quantity.

Having lived around there and seeing the crab going from new to commercial fishing, quietly fishing it on the shores, I always wondered what the deadliest catch was all about.

I am proud that Russian people introduced the king crab to the Northern Europe. It was done intentionally, in order to harvest this beautiful meat. The first attempts to introduce them faced some problems - couple of the first populations died. But then the problems were fixed and the survivors populated the area. Guys in, Norway, enjoy!!!

I like crab when they are already cooked and all orange. I don't like looking at them while alive, they remind me of giant spiders. *shudders* I almost killed myself screaming when my brother once threw one at me. lol

I wonder why the deadliest catch don't use pots like these, you'd be able to carry more of them onboard safely and they seem to catch crab.

It´s shame that it is so exspensive here in Sweden :( Since there are a problem with to many kingcrabs along the Norwegian border, why not fish more?, lower the price in the shops!?
