It's amazing how in Norway everyone can speak English as a second language. Even fishermen in a boat in the middle of northern seas.

Alaskan King crab, and I imagine these king crabs in Norway are the same. The best food in the world. Super tasty. Been eating it at Christmas time since 1984.

The first time that i was in Norway and i have seen the coast i was thinking my heart stops working. This phenomenal country makes everyone speechless and very humbly. It is some years ago now that i was staying there but i must think about this beauty minimum one time per day. It does not want to let me go i think. Visit it and you understand what i am feeling about this Country.

OMG! He boiled the cutted crabs in big pot of water and threw the "stock" away! This stock can be used to make so many types of yummy soup and rice dishes, etc. He should have steamed them. They would be much much much sweeter.

not so sure about the king crabs, but it is like that with all the other crab types you fish. its pobably so that they dont overfish it , plus there is almost no meat in the small ones, so not really worth it
@AMpufnstuf
@AMpufnstuf 8 жыл бұрын
+vladimir iv The term 'invasive species' is abused too much. Just because a species is not natural to an area does not mean it has not found a way to live there without destroying the ecosystem. A lot of species are technically foreign, almost all of them if you go back far enough, and yet they become a key part of the life there. I'm not sure if king crabs are 'invasive' to Norway or not, but they seem to not be killing the other species off and they provide an economy for old fashioned hard working seamen, so they want the little ones to grow bigger.

because the guys on deadliest catch are out there for 18 hours at a time only getting 6 hours to sleep and eat and rest and talk to their families if they'd like to and they are also out there for atleast 4-5 months at a time doing this on a boat that is constantly bobbing up and down in 6-10 foot waves and even higher waves during storms so yea thats why

um....that black spot on the leg stump will NOT grow back, that's from damage while they were softshell or molted, if they lose a leg while the shell hardens, it's permanently gone, there's limits to their regenerative ability.

@lolspain86
@lolspain86 9 жыл бұрын
This is avcually not a crab boat, it's a small fishing boat for one or two fisher at the time mainly fishing cod etc. They are only rigged so that they can fish crab aswell as fish:) We have crab boats in norway aswell, purpose built for crab fishing. They are much bigger and better equiped than deasliest catch. Deadliest cath is how the crab fishing was done in the 80's and mainly a media hype, but you get the idea of season fishing in general through that program, plus a little added drama of course :p
