RIP Timi "Grabber" Hansen I saw King Diamond live last at the Tabernacle in Atlanta on Nov. 4, 2019. Earlier that day, Timi Hansen, Bass player on several Mercyful Fate albums and early King Diamond albums (including Abigail) passed away. King announced the sad news at the show and then declared that the song Black Horsemen would be dedicated to Timi everytime they played it.

There is actually one more song from Abigail, but it wasn't part of the story so it's just a bonus track. It's called "Shrine" very good song too if you want to check it out. It wasn't included on some versions of the album.

That’s because it wasn’t originally a bonus track on “Abigail”… It was the B side to “The Family Ghost” single.

So now you have heard the classic King Diamond lullaby (lol seeing you react to that bit of the song) in its entirety! I agree with you 100% when you say that this is the most diverse song on the album. What we end up with by the time the song is over are the ghosts of Jonathan and Miriam, and the Horsemen are taking Baby Abigail off to the coffin in the woods to most likely drive the silver spikes through her again (as in the first song on the album). This album is so much better than most horror movies I've seen, so its kind of a shame that its never had a film version. I am so glad that you enjoyed the album as a whole, and I am very happy to have humbly suggested it! If you wanted to listen to the whole album as a live stream, you could certainly count on me to be there. I also think that if you prefer to listen to it on your own, that a review type reaction would be a lot of fun to see as well. Its really a shame that there aren't more reaction videos of King Diamond on KZbin. Thanks Randi for all of these reactions as it was a blast to watch them!

@@mikeg.4211 Thanks Mike, I thought this might be one Randi would enjoy! I was probably a bit young for this album when it was released, but the main reason I didn't listen to King Diamond until the early '90s was because stores near me (in Tennessee) just didn't have their albums/cassettes. I had recently started listening to Iron Maiden around the time Abigail was released. Anyway, all that to say I'm getting old too! Oh... and I'll be interested to see any reactions she makes to that Wide Awake album you got her!! Nice gifts there!!

Very well done as always, Randi! Your reactions are masterpieces full of thoughtfulness and sincerity. This is an outstanding album, and this track is a classic, made all the more enjoyable because it is a well constructed concept album, which gives it major bonus points with me. Speaking of great concept albums, the Wide Awake album you have there is a double cd concept album about birth, childhood, life, old age, death, and rebirth; and like this album, the last track is an epic conclusion, titled "The Infinite Wave", all primarily written by a 19 year old (Andrea Menoudakis). You're super welcome, and I hope you enjoy the cd's (but wait to react to them before listening!) :)

The " lullaby " line at the end is the payoff plot twist to the entire story. Abigail was the baby who died when the original owner of the house " pushed the girl down the stairs" ( Abigail's mother ) . When the descendant of that man , Johnathan , tried to reclaim the house , Abigail possessed his wife and shoved HIM down the stairs to his death. The " lullaby " is the story of Abigail's revenge. ...the narrator of the album IS ABIGAIL.

Having walked this path of discovery with you, it's been so interest to see how 2 minds are influence by one album. On a lot of things, we've seen eye to eye, and only diverted on minor nuances in the details. I cannot say weather this last track could out shine any, or all the the others, simply because every one of them has successfully maintained a steady air of fantasy horror, with intrigue, and plenty of cliff hanging, both during and between song. But the overriding factor that held me in suspense, was the total unpredictability from one moment to the next throughout the entire story. I'd have been so sure that that the demon would be sent on it's merry way, and they all lived happily ever after, that I anyone said to me that evil would win the day, I wouldn't have given it ear at all, stand by what I had predicted. Thanks Mike, or Chase, you're fully responsible for bring something unheard to the table, giving us another to search up, and allowing to be taken on one heck of a journey. I personally thank you. If I had that time to do so, Id listen to the album from start to finish, and then again. Just to soak up all that it has to offer. A big thank you to you too Randi for put this exciting string of reactions out in good order. TTFN.

@@grahamnash9794 Yeah, I was the one that originally started Randi down this path. I'm just really happy that you have enjoyed the journey as well! Oh, and it wasn't totally an evil ending... The Black Horsemen did drag Abigail off to the cathedral and spike her back into the coffin. Unfortunately the end result is the Mansion in Darkness is now haunted by the ghosts of Jonathan and Miriam. It was Randi's "Anthony Vincent - "MASTER OF PUPPETS" (Metallica Cover) - in 50 Styles - REACTION" that prompted me to introduce her to King Diamond, as he was one of the styles that Anthony Vincent attempted to imitate (but not that great) in that video. Its at roughly the 4:05 mark of that video. Anyway, I mentioned King Diamond to Randi and she had not heard of the band nor the singer, so I am honored to have introduced her (and anyone else) to them.

@@chasestreet8082 Well taking in the story has been very much a ride of ups and downs. And like any goo book, I just had to follow it through to the end. And I very much enjoyed it too. Way back, I remember seeing King Diamond albums in the old fashion record shop, and always by passed them. And the only reason the name rang a bell with me is the cover art was truly eye catching. At the time it Mororhead all the way with me. Saxon, Whatesnake, Iron Maiden, and several other British metal bands of the time. And rarely, if ever, did I stay into paths unknown. My mistakes are many, and sitting tight in my comfort zone has been the route of most of them. Thanks again for bringing this to Rani's attention.
