I ran into King at Walmart. He was such a sweetie. I asked him if he would take a pic with the little girl in from of me. She was afraid to ask and her grandmother was like, who is this chile LOL. He was so polite and mannerable and patient with us. I always say, this country needs to prioritize psychology and sociology in core curriculum and provide counseling prior to graduation. Our childhood impacts our world views, values, etc. I was raised by my grandparents during the crack epidemic. By the grace of God, I was able to push pass a lot of anger, resentment, abandonment issues until I became aware of therapy being an option. I agree, this child does need family therapy and lots of love and to be heard. He’s always seemed like he was acting out because he wanted to be seen by his parents. I recently asked my kids to start family therapy so they can unpack unintentional habits and beliefs instilled in them by my parenting because I was in survival mode after my divorce. People out here are so hurtful in these comments to celebrities not grasping they are HUMAN. That stuff hurts. I could definitely be King’s internet TeTe. As a collective, our community needs to heal as a whole. We do a lot of internal damage towards each other that slinks back to Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome and generational trauma. It costs nothing to be kind, considerate, and empathetic to each other. We go through enough just being Black in America. Geez.

Well, I can't lie. I've always said that the little boy was ugly. Inside out ugly. And what I mean by that is that he's always had a nasty little spirit about him. Fast-forward to now and he's shown exactly what I saw in him as a kid. If he were more humble then I would probably feel bad. But he's just not a good person, it's not hard to see. He's just inside out ugly. He can't be ugly on the inside and outside, pick a struggle. On the other hand I kinda feel bad for Tiny because she went through the same.

King as well as the other children, in my opinion had or has no boundaries. This child is heading for destruction if he doesn't seek help and change his ways for sure . It's called CHOICES, and he thinks and treats the "less than" beneath him. Look how he treated the Waffle House worker and the homeless man. He has no compassion nor empathy. The people he runs with are for clout and "yes men or may I say boys".

Hmmm….I don’t know if judging all of the kids based on King’s behavior is fair. In fact I’m not sure if judging King off of a few viral clips is fair to him. I agree, I don’t think people realize they are trauma dumping online. Instead of taking the time to heal with a therapist, we can’t tell them what they need to do to properly heal, the only thing that online people can do is to send encouraging words. And it continues to happen in the black community and I have been noticing no one is doing actual healing with a therapist just spewing their trauma onto others.

His parents are famous and I'm sure always on the go which makes me understand why he was with his grandma. King is young and of course he's gonna make mistakes, it doesn't help that he likes attention either but unfortunately he's famous so his mistakes are amplified for the world to critique. I agree this younstee is still trying to figure out who he is; he's going to make mistakes..he's still young. It's especially hard for kids whose parents are in the public spotlight. When i read some of the commnts that people make, i often wonder why they feel it's necessary to say some of the things they are saying. It's one thing to be critical of an adult but it's horrible when their comments are aimed at a young person.

King is right when I first starting watching the family hustle, and Tiny was showing King living with his grandma, because she felt like her mother needed someone to love, I knew this was going to cause issues. How do you make a decision to assign a child to your mom and keep all the rest of your kids??? I grew up with a young man who experienced the same thing and he suffered not because of his grandparents mistreating him but because all his other siblings lived with their parents and they would occasionally come and pick him up. Any therapist would tell you this boy would develop abandonment issues and would have issues with their parents when they get older and act out. I don’t care if they thought they were doing right, the child is going to not understand those reasons. He has childhood trauma issues.

As far Tamika is concerned, sometimes talking about it makes it more real. When we're quiet, we often make excuses & go along with the foolishness. Talking about it doesn't mean there is bad blood or ill feelings. Talking sometimes sets us free & enables us 2 accept responsibility 4 allowing ourselves 2 b used or taken advantage of. It's a step n being okay choosing urself. People always want people 2 heal until they start healing. The process isn't always pretty. Bondage is real. I'm proud of Tamika 4 speaking up 4 herself.

I really appreciate your perspective and how you didn't go in the direction that most commentators would about this young man. His story reminds me of Screech, Dustin Diamond. He was not the most attractive person on a show full of attractive people. He mentioned how that played on his self esteem and attributed to his negative trajectory. I pray the best for him, and others in this generation, suffering with this type of pressure & hopefully he pulls through in a better light❤

Extending grace is not excusing Kings behavior. This young man is clearly in pain. I'll be praying he does the work needed so whatever he's been through doesn't destroy his future.

I agree with your perspective. Thoughtful and thought provoking. He is 18, technically still a baby. One who has grown up with famous parents who were not responsible, and had their own issues. He still needs guidance/parenting. I wish him and their family healing. 🙏🏾

You what I can appreciate about you is that you do your best to maintain a sense of humanity by giving ppl grace and allowing yourself to see it from another pov which then allows your audience to do the same. This world is full of hatred and we love to be like "what can I do about that?!" But we can do exactly THIS and give grace, understanding and just pray for the change. I value you this one sir 😊

I disagree, my mother had the baby blues after my birth in 1967, postpartum wasn’t a term in black community, so my parents did the best n at 3 mos old my maternal grandparents took custody for 18 years. I had a very good life. My parents divorced n my mom remarried and had 3 sons n continued to care for my two older sisters, but there wasn’t any turning back. My dad was heavily involved in my life, but he was military, he couldn’t care for an infant, especially a girl back then. I never disrespected anyone n acted out. I went onto college n had a good career. That kid had no consequences for his behavior, he was raised on an unlimited pedestal n a throne where KING is KING & no one else matters. The road he’s on can only lead to bad things, if he doesn’t get it together. Even at 19, he could still use a positive mentor, one from the outside.

Inner childhood wounds comes out in adulthood with the relationship we have with ourselves and others. The responsibility becomes are own once we realize this and at least attempt to heal from this. Let’s try not to become a victim of our past and re parent ourselves to be a better version of ourselves that the people that was meant to do it wasn’t capable of doing it.

King is an adult, kids who do not have famous parents go through the same thing. Dark skin have been called Blackie and monkeys all our lives but we as human do not have to take our angry out on others. I experience it 1st hand too but he have resources to get mental health services to be a better person.

While it is true many are raised by their grandparent(s), most are not put on television to make viewing audiences believe otherwise. Plus, most are not given money because they have lied about what actually happened. King's entrepreneurial ship began because he may have been emancipated; placed in the relative's care due for it was better than foster care governed by the government, etc. He has very little to no respect for his parents, which they have caused. There is a lot of pain, and he is not a bad looking kid.

I feel for King. He is the son of R&B legend and major HIP HOP player. He looking for something. But… he has to understand not EVERYONE gets respect on the strength. He needs to stay in his lane, make his own way and earn his respect. No one should be coming for his or anyone else looks for that matter it’s mean. I’ll pray for this young boy because the way he’s acting out. Not cool on soooo many levels. ( streets, law enforcing, lawsuits, business wise, fans or lack there of, etc)

I think that we have to understand that a lot of parents sent their kids to the grandparents house because it was safer than sending them to daycare or after school care with strangers that you really don’t know. Also, I feel bad for King because he is a young black man trying to find his identity in this society and on top of that, he has self esteem issues because people are talking about his looks. We need to give this young black man some grace but he does probably need some type of counseling. I as a parent that got a divorce and had to utilize my parents and grandparents to help with my children, I’ve experienced the resentment of a child that doesn’t understand that you weren’t there because you needed to work and provide, so I have empathy and compassion for Tiny and T.I. as well. Parents just doing the best that they could.
