King Frederik X and Queen Mary ride back to Amalienborg in golden carriage

After taking the throne, King Frederik X and Queen Mary returned to their royal residence in Amalienborg in the Golden Wedding Anniversary Coach.
This comes after the formal abdication of Queen Margrethe II.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen proclaimed Frederik the new King of Denmark.
The new King and Queen shared a surprise kiss on the balcony of Christiansborg Palace in their first historic appearance as monarchs.
The Golden Coach was built over nine months in 1892 as a gift for King Christian and Queen Louise to mark their golden wedding.

The horse guard is know as Garderhusarerne. They practice riding through the streets in the city of Slagelse, smack in the middle of Sealand, every Wednesday so they get a lot of training.

King Frederl from the 1800's did a bad thing when he stopped the coronation and put this rediculous proclomation in its place. The King or Queen going before the Lord in chuch, taking their vows before the Lord is right. They shouldbecrowned in church. That is what is wrong here.

I love the Denmark RF. A modest clan. Mary is my fave EUR royal. Unlike Me-gain Ragland, Mary never plotted to marry a prince or to defraud the world and the line of succession by fake moonbump pregnancies. She never chased $$$ or fame. She is not a serial liar or embezzler. She is a genuinely decent human being who demonstrates respect for families, elders, and the Queen. Her speeches are poetic and lyrical. Her unrivaled curtsies are legendary. Mary is not only a crown jewel in and of herself - she is Denmark’s secret weapon. Charles needs to follow the wise example of Margarethe and remove titles or abdicate so that William can remove titles of the Toxic Treasonous Twosome.

The King is also the head of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark. The first law he signed as the King was how to held a service at church. We’ve had no more coronation since the ending of Absolute power of the King. And the Royals of Denmark became constitutional monarchy.

I had no idea that these matter of fact, social welfare countries in Scandinavia still had working royalty! I honestly thought these royal people were just symbolic relics of a colonial past tgat was indeed very pretty but for a country like Denmark it doesn't make much sense to me esp in a place with such high taxes and high cost of living. I can tell you as much as the UK ceremony is said to have cost £100 million, and in the 2021-22 fiscal year, UK taxpayers paid a total of £86.3 million in appanage to their “Sovereign Grant,” while the whole Danish Royal Family, so both the new King and Queen, their children + the Queen mother receive an appanage of just around £14.4 million a year in all. There has been some talk about the government also wanting to give a hand with some renovations of some of the Royal Palaces that are owned by Danish State and not the Royal Family, now that they have to rearrange how much the Queen mother and the new King is going to get in the future.

it has nothing to do with the budget, it is pure legislation in accordance with the Danish constitution, Christian d. 8 in 1840 was the last king to be anointed and crowned, we got the constitution in 1849

When you proclaim a new king in Denmark, in my eyes it has always been a sign of the nation's pride, and that the king is part of the people when he knights Kbh, so I was a little disappointed on that point and it's self . not because the new queen Mary and their children should not also be praised, but they should then sit together in the karate behind King Frederik on horseback and could also be quite cool if both the king and his son ride together Kbh together! What did you think?
