The first time I heard this song, I was in Saudi Arabia looking over giant deserted sand dunes, while also healing from a broken foot. I immediately got the chills and have been a King Gizzard fan ever since.

This mix is WAY tighter than the studio and the vocals are fucking SICK. One of the best KEXP sessions I've seen

I love how energetic this performance is. Honestly kinda prefer it to the studio version’s chiller sound
@stephenhutto74813 жыл бұрын
I think the vocals on the studio version just made it sound more chill

Not gonna lie I originally thought when he said "Feel euphoric, Polygondwanaland And so novel, Polygondwanaland" he was saying "Filthy frolic" and "It's a mouthful"

it's just 7/8, but one phrase cycles every 2 bars and the other every 4 so you can play with common denominators and make this polyrhythmic stuff. It never deviates from 7 though.
@atharvachoudhary69743 жыл бұрын
To add to the answers here, while the drummers keeps up the 7/8 rhythm, the vocals sing in 3/4 time. Which is a 7:6 polymeter in nerdy terms
@unknownsoldier4525 жыл бұрын
Terrible camerawork, the key here is the drums.
@atharvachoudhary6974 Жыл бұрын
So fucking true, the drums and bass keep that 7/8 rhythm going throughout the song, even when the guitars and vocals go through 3/4 and 4/4. It's like a train chugging on and on and never stopping
@jaybaker92486 жыл бұрын
Why are you cutting off the end of the songs?
@TheBrendo2206 жыл бұрын
Jay Baker it was a continuous set, so it's either cut the end of songs or every video would be the full performance 😂
