Iron Lung just ticks every box for a Gizz song. It's chill and spacy, it's heavy, it's jammy, it's got catchy hooks and then throws you off the deep end in to face melting solos. They really outdid themselves on this one.

This band played 3, three-hour sets at Red Rocks this year without repeating a song, and have released an average of 3 records a year, all different themes and in many cases, genres, and always distinctly their sound (desert-psych)~ They are a tribute to what can be accomplished when an artist constantly challenges themselves and pushes the limits of not only themselves, but of society and culture- pretty cool tbh

No need for a Grammy. Only the sell out main stream artists on big record labels are candidate's for that award. And they don't have the freedom to wright and compose their own music. let me add to the chorus of ambrose appreciators: his vocal performance on the back-half of "iron lung" is freakin' awesome. saw these boys play at forest hills in NYC right after this album came out and damn, this song was amazing there, and i'm glad they did a KEXP session to immortalize it with the station's stellar audio engineers

Saw them three times in a week - Austin, OKC, and Red Rocks III. Incredible experience. They are getting huge.

They can get so much out of a single melody or motif it's insane. Iron Lung is an absolute masterpiece and I've had it on repeat daily. I just saw them at Levitation and it's 100% one of the highlights of my year.

Blown away, again. I'm Gizzing. Got to see the boys twice on tour and Ice Death has quickly made my favorites. S/O Stu for mixing this on the road and the band/crew for accomplishing the tour, the releases, and everything in-between. I still can't comprehend that Amb and Cook are still on the road too. KGATLW is one of a kind, prolific and once-in-a-generation. See y'all in the Rock Hall.

These 'nice guys' are the absolute best! I was blessed to see them in Detroit and at the final Red Rocks show last week. Even got to meet them in airport the next morning by luck! They were so sweet and signed my Daughters tote from the concert. Bada bing bada boom!Forever in love with their sick shredabilities 😍🐊

This band has gotten better and better. Compare how tight they are now to even the 2019 KEXP session (which I love) - they're way tighter now!

I'm really glad I'm coming back to this album a lot recently, I thought it was alright on release but DAYUM these grooves are on par with everything else they put out this month, these guys are incredible.

Same, put this album on the other day and heard a Lava for the first time and I couldn't believe what I was hearing, fucking incredible song
@luthien472 жыл бұрын
@@kyles5513 did shrooms the day it came out and listened to it for the first time with my best friend. Lava was definetly the peak point on the record at least on that first listen, the atmosphere was just unmatched

@@luthien47 nice, that reminds me I have some golden teachers left from my birthday last month, think I'll eat some and listen to it again next time.

They are all unreal musicians but holy fuck that’s the hardest working drummer I’ve ever seen
@wyssmaster Жыл бұрын
i would suggest checking out keith moon, bill bruford, neil peart or any of a few dozen other drummers (also jazz dudes like max roach, jo jones etc)
@BARUtubbig Жыл бұрын
He's amazing, but far from the hardest working drummer lol.
@Mime5910011 ай бұрын
lol check out Zappa’s drummers like Bozzio, Colaiuta and Wackerman. Those guys were on another level every one of his drummers had an insane workload. Any good jazz drummer also is at this level at the very least
@invisibleface44887 ай бұрын
@@wyssmaster I've seen all 3 of the classic rock drummers you mentioned, and Cavs works as hard and has as good chops as any of them. Saw some jazz dudes too, Billy Cobham, Lenny White, Steve Gadd, Narada, and others, I'd rather see Cavs any day.

Have not seen anything like this since Jimmy Hendrix in 1968, Led Zeppelin in 1971, Grateful Dead in 1974...Rock and Roll is alive and in good hands.

Another treasure. KEXP and King Gizzard are two great tastes that taste great together. I'm always happy when something reminds me to search KEXP and "King Gizzard." One listen won't be enough. Thanks & Happy New Year 2024!
