the problem with king gizz is that every album of theirs is my favorite

In case you were unaware….each song is played in each of the 7 modes of western music, with the first letter of each word in the album title corresponding to a different mode. Ice - Ionian Death - Dorian Planets - Phrygian Lungs - Lydian Mushrooms - Mixolydian And - Aeolian Lava - Locrian
@Testgeraeusch Жыл бұрын
I was actually unsure at first which of the songs is in which mode as their order is not the same as in the title, but the order of songs is just the order of the modes: Eb Ionian - Mycelium G Dorian - Ice V D Phrygian - Magma F Lydian - Lava D Mixolydian - Hells itch A Aeolian - Iron Lung A Locrian - Gliese 710

If you want even more king gizzard that is absolutely nothing like what you've heard so far check out the album Eyes like the skies which is a sorta like cowboy ballad audiobook narated by ambrose's late father Broderick Smith

This album is a masterpiece. Lava is the only song I've ever heard that has a profound ability to manifest emotions.

Hopefully you find more music that makes you feel things. Its fun to connect to music like that. I’m mad sensitive so i be crying to any song that strikes me in the slightest, kinda makes it hard to listen to some music tbh but still music is therapeutic for me cus i can feel the things ive been holding in throughout the day.

Finally someone geeking out to the magma lyrics, thought I was the only one. I love how when Stu writes some lyrics, it’s like in how many wild and crazy different ways can I describe one thing such as magma. He described it in like 200 different ways so cool

King Gizzard and the Tripping Wizard here! I feel like I'm in the seat next to u on this journey. Magma and lava are my favorites. The way lava starts as a bunch of clanking around end of a song then melts into a goofy Trippy song kills me, I love it! "Smells like boiled eggs" "like peanut butter" has me rolling while still scaring the fuck out of my mortality. Mycelium mentions bald primate and on the album KG the song Automation is also a song about mushrooms changing the Bald Primate. "King of a bald primate" and "Tell all your friends the neural networks at work" Automation is the ultimate mushroom song 👍. Just jammed this album on acid and mushrooms 2 weeks ago. Yes I buy drugs just for the purpose of listening to Gizzy rn. While listening to this album I somehow became convinced that king gizzard was an information node in the mycelial like network of awakening and that they were calling all psychonauts to the ultimatrix of knowledge. 😂👌 In fact I came out of that trip with an entire Fan Fiction story I will soon start writing. Gotta trip n jam these guys folks. Its inspired me so much that I'm working a melmak genetic lineage of mushrooms right now into a new strain called King Gizzard and then by xmas I'll hopefully have my follow up strain Lizard Wizard ready. Love ur channel!!!

I really love this album. I mean, I love everything Gizz does, but this one just hits in such a special trippy way. First time I listened through with headphones, I came out the other side legit feeling like I'd just come down after tripping.

Awesome seeing you finally being able to upload this. KZbin can definitely be a pain in the ass when it comes to the whole copyright stuff. Hopefully that's all resolved and we can also see the PDA reaction soon.

I'm actually surprised PDA didn't get released first because it was the first upload, but I imagine it'll get released any day now and I'll post it the day it does.

Love your work amigo. The joy of watching you dig deeper into the Gizzverse is palpable. I think you need some Fishing for Fishies in your life though, try one of the boogies from that album (Boogieman Sam, Plastic Boogie, Cyboogie). Keep up the amazing work my beautiful friend

Iron Lung is also my favorite Gizz song (Crumbling Castle takes its spot periodically ha ha). For you younger folk who might not know, iron lungs were tubular metal machines that people in the 40s/50s used when stricken with polio when they couldn’t breathe well enough on their own to survive. The patient’s body would be sealed inside the machine with only their head poking out of the end. The iron lung would simulate breathing by alternating between positive and negative air pressure, causing the chest to expand and contract, oxygenating the lungs. Amby’s ‘Frog breath, steam tent’ verses refer to a similar type of breathing and a process of clearing mucus from lungs, respectively. Almost all the lyrics refer to the process of breathing and the shitty issues that occur when one is in an iron lung. My take is the protagonist is suffering and wants to get away from her body, thus ‘give me the mushrooms, time to leave’ and the ‘the ship sailed, train derailed’ when coming down from the shrooms and sadly back to being in the machine. There are tons of articles on iron lungs and it’s worth checking them out. At least Google pictures of them- amazing stuff. Thanks for coming to my Gizz Talk!

I think it’s possibly the best song on the album between that and iron lung. Joey lines at the end deliver chills!
