Honestly, in the end I believe George only truly loved himself. With all of the seeds that his mother planted in his head, all he did was manipulate and use everyone around him, especially James. I get that it’s was the main way to survive but he went into the game knowing what he was getting into. I’m sure he grew to care for those who he spent the most time with like James, Charles, and even his wife Katherine, might’ve even had some platonic love for both James and Katherine concurrently and truly thought of Charles as a brother but in the end, it wasn’t a romantic love with any of them, as everything was a means to an end for him and the family.

Yes, quite well said, but now to the meat of things: Galaz is superb in the the androgynous role. He reeks male sensuality to the proscribed limit, with an ooze of lust délaver. The role seems to cum so naturally to him, despite the period setting, the direction, settings, and the court intrigue recreates a realty.

Good question, and still unanswered and unanswerable. But from both their real letters to each other, what started as simply transactional did have love on both sides. James' end is still up for debate. To take the line this series does is both brave and psychologically sound. Because in the end you see how George is still in thrall to his domineering mother, and there was no choice for him, because there was no redeemable way back. And it is clear how James' death burnt everything good out of George's soul, and he was corrupted by it. After Geirge's death his mother neither mourned nor reacted. So it was proved true - when he was dropped at birth onto the floor, a terrible ill omen in those days, you could say she recognised his ultimate fate so pushed him far and fast towards the inevitable.

i just finished watching it and i wanna know what his mom meant when she said George doesn't love the king, he only loves one person. did she imply that George only loves himself ? honestly speaking at the end George did get engulfed by the darkness and i think it was very hypocritical of Mary to say that 'i didn't raise you like that' which she very much did tho. she raised george as more of an asset than a son. we can't justify george's actions of course but we can understand where he was coming from. as for king james i think he only loved lennox , both george and somerset were more of a distraction for him, to get away from his reality. i don't think james loved any of them genuinely. i think george would have been happier if he just escaped somewhere, not rich and privileged but i think he would have found simple happiness. the capacity to love left him doing all this. truly a sad story

Complètement anachronique. Il y avait beaucoup d'amitiés passionnées à l'époque mais très peu de passages à l'acte. Les historiens sérieux ne font aucun crédit à l'hypothèse d'une relation homosexuelle complète entre Jacques 1er et Buckingham ni entre Buckingham et Charles 1er. Pas plus qu'entre Henri III de France et ses mignons ni entre Louis XIII et Saint-Mars, etc. Il faut enfin comprendre que l'acceptation générale de l'homosexualité dans les actuels pays occidentaux est une innovation absolue dans l'histoire universelle.
