How is doc still separate from Mario? With the introduction of chrom, we know that characters can have different moves and still be echo's. Luigi was the og clone of course, but they changed him drastically after 64, with the introduction of Dr.Mario.

The only move change from Roy to Chrom is his Up-B - everything else is the same. Dr. Mario has a number of changes in Ultimate, mostly to his normal attacks (which is generally the indication that they aren't just a clone anymore).

It varies. Simon is the face of the NES era, and the best sidescrolling Castlevania is easily a tie between Super Castlevania IV and Rondo of Blood. So yeah, Simon is the face of the originals, and therefore enjoys status as a video game icon, but Richter not only starred on a fan favorite, he also had a very prominent role in SotN, which is also huge. So yeah, it's fairly hard to tell.

There's only one player character on the stage in the Rathalos boss battle. It might not be a stage, could be boss battle/story mode. They never said that Rathalos was a /stage/ boss.

Xenophilius394 they definitely revealed it was a stage because you can just go to the website and look at it. It's at the bottom of the "stages" tab. So it is a stage. And they probably hid another character offscreen when recording for the trailer, or there's a mode in games&more where you have to fight bosses or maybe practice mode lets you practice in a stage

It's not there on the stages tab. The bottom row is Wily's Castle, PAC-LAND, Mario Maker, Suzaku Castle, Midgar, Umbra Clock Tower, New Donk, Plateau Tower, Moray Towers and Dracula's Castle. And, I mean, the stage looks /exactly/ like the boss areneas from Subspace. It's just a flat field, no platforms, no pits. That's a Subspace battle arena, not a multiplayer stage. That would make for a very boring multiplayer stage (especially since the only unique thing to it is the Rathalos...which isn't unique since it's also an assist trophy). I did say it could be a boss battle mode, though, but it's pretty clearly either a boss battle arena or part of a new story mode. There's no way that's a regular stage, and if it was, they would've mentioned that and put it on the stages page, which it's /not/ on.

The Dracula battle also doesn't seem to be taking place on the Dracula's Castle stage, either, for that matter. The platforms are missing, and it seems like a bigger flat stage than the regular version of the stage, and, again, there's only one player character. They also hinted that Dracula's boss battle was special, unlike the other Castlevania bosses. There's definitely a boss battle mode or a story mode in here.

And meanwhile Zero and Knuckles are just assists. I like Fire Emblem, but most of the Smash characters are identical. Roy, Marth, and Ike were good enough. They just keep throwing in more sword wielders, when there's axes, lances, bows, magic, beasts, and more to represent FE. Zero at least is a more unique swordsman who also has a ranged blaster, among a slew of special moves just like Mega Man X. Oh well.

There’s definitely a story mode their hiding. (Nobody I’ve seen has mentioned this, and I haven’t even finished this video.) As Simon Belmont is being introduced his rip hits The “Reaper.” As the camera swoops over to Simon you can see him clearly with no cloak, but once it gets an in detail close up he is wearing the cloak only to take it off for the hype. If they’re only using the animated bits to introduce characters why would the footage be cut around like that?

I’m not sure if anyone mentioned this or not, but I don’t think there is a Monster Hunter stage. He specifically said that Rathalos is a Boss, not a stage hazard. Plus it would be weird that he is a stage hazard and summoned as an assist. I feel there is either a Boss battle mode, or from an adventure mode with boss battles.

It's definitely from story mode. If you look at the picture of all 103 stages there is no monster hunter stage. It's not a stage but rather a boss fight that I think is hinting at the new story mode.

Aside from my lifelong dreams of Waluigi and a new story mode, know what I really would love to see in Ultimate, that’s actually a pretty realistic expectation? A new Easter egg taunt-triggered series of conversations, like Snake’s codec calls or Palutena’s guidance. I would really love for them to bring back the codecs and Palutena’s guidance (especially the latter, for just anything bearing semblance to the majesty that is Uprising), and add new conversations for all the newer fighters, but I also feel like doing the same thing with a different franchise would be cool. Which franchise to do that with, I dunno, but I think it’d be cool.

the bundled echo fighters might make it easier to organise but also compact the screen. I love it. The thing that got me the most was the whole music mode. Theyve put so much effort into this! Then they mention you can make playlists too, thats so mad, and the way that works with switch as essentially an on the go music player was genious;

Something very brief that I haven't seen anyone talk about yet: in the music viewer screen they mention that any game that doesn't have a fighter or multiple games being represented gets put under the misc. tab, like Balloon Fight. However, Final Fantasy had an entire tab to itself, yet as of Sm4sh all FF had was one fighter, one stage, and two songs (three if you count the fanfare). That seems like the literal definition of "doesn't have multiple games being represented", yet it still has an entire tab of it's own. Maybe an accidental hint at a new FF representative?

I feel disgustingly lucky because with Simon in the game I got 3 out of 6 of my most requested characters and on top of all that I also got Richter Belmont who is my favorite Belmont but I never thought he be anything more than a possible color for Simon if he got in.
