Very cool run. It doesn't matter if it's not crawling. The original isn't made for that either.

Hey there, Ive just finished building mine and ive tested it at home on tiles on 2s. I cant seem to make it turn on its place, i can hear the motors and diffs and it kinda hops trying to turn but it can't do it. Is that normal? Because it steers if im full throttle. Otherwise if it isn't, what should i be looking at?

Did You try SCX6 wheel on it? They should be similar diameter and hex... I do not know why You are mentioning tanks all the time, this drive has nothing to do with tank drive... To be honest I would prefer this to be a simple 2 motor tank drive because the way this drive is made Those diffs will die fast...

Sadly that clicking noise is 1st sighn of diff gears stripping. Belt shouln't be issue here. Others had the same issue already aswell. Ive just orderded one if these, but will try to address the gear issue before I even run it 😉
@Xofroggy2 жыл бұрын
I would love stronger gears for it, if you find a solution let me know please. im worried my new transmission is gonna strip out the same as the old one just from cruising around
@knusperpiti10152 жыл бұрын
@@Xofroggy I'm having the same problems now. I looked at the differntal gearboxes. The differential gears are far too undersized for the force acting on them. But there is a solution. I lock the differentials with epoxy resin and remove the middle motor and complete driveshaft for the steering. Two 1080 esc come in for each motor. Then I'll control both motors individually like in the Kyosho Blizzard. A pistol remote control can then also be used via a mixing function. I hope this will help....

I'll be watching to see how durable and reliable it will be after a few more runs, especially after amphibious use. It's rather unprofessional to not provide at least basic instructions on things such as setting the correct belt tension and the recommended electrical installation set-up. In general, the technical information on this truck has been very minimal and a little bit amateurish. The ebay site for example describes the Lurker as having a realistic ladder frame chassis plus realistic metal front and rear axles. It says this truck does not include the servo, you have to prepare it yourself. Then it says it is an amphibious truck BUT needs you to make some waterproof work before playing in water. Okay King Kong RC, tell us what exactly you had in mind. However, all this doesn't come as such a surprise because as far as I can tell, the company doesn't even have a website! Ordering spare parts (if they exist) therefore seems to require sending random messages via Facebook and hoping to get an answer.
