This episode of The Twilight Zone was inspired by the discovery of the wreckage of the B-24 Liberator Lady Be Good by British Petroleum engineers in 1958.

The french horn notes in the background of this music bed were also used in "cues" for the CBS Radio Mystery Theatre of 1974-1982. Good catch, here.

What unused cue? I saw this when it came out, the jets were in it then.

Pete Ruppert It's not uncommon for the word cue to be used when referring to background music in TV or film. Anytime you're watching a TV show and you hear music, that's a cue. In the TV/film industry, they use what are called cue sheets. These sheets log the music in order to properly track payment owed to the composers.Oct 20, 2016

If the stock footage was contemporary the Blue Angels flew Grumman F11F Tigers. Before that, Panthers and Cougars. P. S. If you like to compare and contrast, seek a made-for-Stateside TV movie from 1970, Sole Survivor, starring some familiar faces, among them Richard Basehart, Vince Edwards, William Shatner and Patrick Wayne.
