Nice video, and good your thinking of visualizing your formation on a battlefield, however you must think also visually place the enemy's troops as well, a city battle starts at meeting your enemy that is attacking outside your walls, pike/spear are to take the brunt of an attack, spear kill cavalry and infantry, and spearman are horrible for advance on a enemy line, so spear are of no use on attacking another spear line of defense. Let's take the immortal guard as an example, do a simple test, attack your farm with 100 immortal guard and then go to t8 inf and attack with 100, you will see all the immortal die but the t8 will have survivors. Guard units and attack units, each are boosted to fight the other group. Attack and Defense! Look at your reports of an attack on your city that you did not loose but was close, you will easily see the troops that did not die, they are made to defend your city, if you attack a player and go look at your report you will see types that suffered greatly, and others that did outstanding, point is not all troops are attack, and generally attack troops are big losers on Defense, your battle reports are your answer to troop formations, pay attention to them.

T1 attack-- t2defend -t3 attack - t4 defend- t5 attack - t6 defend ... you know where I am going . Defenders class first. Attackers them die last... so never send 1 army of defend or attack. Send half of both .... so send attackers and defender. Most important infantry . Infantry= PROTECTION TO ALL

Not yet, but when you are defending in your own castle the more troops the better. If you are defending in the alliance fortress, you want units with higher defense prioritized but you still need some attack. probably 25% infantry 40%cavalry and 35% bowmen. You also have to take into account others troops in a fortress or their base. Did some people send less infantry vs more, and then adjust your troops accordingly.

no when hunting monsters and barbarians my formation is to usually send 5k infantry a much lower number than when fighting other players, then send as many bowmen as you have, and fill the rest in with cavalry. I never send siege

Is there something like best in slot war mode, or at least one for each type of (attack / def / monster) heroes to appoint? First I assumed it would be royal return heroes, but then I had times when I was utterly rekt by green or blue heroes in hostile army, with some of them +2 stars with and 5lvls higher per hero. I'm fairly new and could use a helpful advice. Lastly, explain what's the difference between for example ''Bowmen attack + (some)%" and "Bowmen damage done + (some)%".

Infantry are born to die. But if you use them wisely and send army's how I explained and have great buffs then you will actually win wars without any serious damage . Infantry is key .... them just semd strongest archer , calves, and siege ... infantry is where the real numbers of tier come to play

So you have t8 are defenders . So your need to send half of t8 infantry and other half t7 infantry . And a little of t6 infantry to be meat shield for your t7 and t8 infantry. Now on class and archer and siege send your strongest class. Which is t8 .. if you going to fight an openings which you might think it will be difficult. Send t7 and t8 half/ half of class, archers . And siege . But if you know is a easy kill . Just do that infantry sequence and send all strongest calves, archers , siege . So infantry- t6-t7-t8 . Calves , archers , siege all t8, for safety some t7

Stupid question...Do the t levels apply regardless of your highest level or does it alter to your highest level? ie. When t7s are your highest, does the flow of troop loss or damage adjust or do you have to alter your formation because it stays the same via what level troop does what damage? Lol I hope that makes sense. If your highest is t8, will it do what my highest as a t7 will do automatically or do I have to methodically choose because a t8 will only ever do what a t8 does and a t7 will only do what a t7s does and so on...

today i noticed something strange against Barb master cpt 30. Duo barb we both had t8 troops and i added some t6 and t7 Bowman. The t8 (Warrior) got wiped out AND AFTER THAT! the t7 Archer and after that t8 Archer and then t8 cav. (we were testing stuff so we doesnt send a whole lot of troops.) the odd thing is. Normale the Damage priority is Warrior; Spearman; light Cav; Heavy Cav, Archer, Crossbow But this time Archer died BEFORE heavy Cav! and i also heared that Bowman attack every troop simultaneously so they dont follow the order?

have you ever tried using equalized marches?? back before I lost all my low tier troops I used to do equalized marches and they did a lot better than only Max tier marches.. in both pve and pvp.. I also tested this on the beta server fighting 5k of all tiers vs 5k of highest tier and the mixed March always won by a lot..

I've got a small question: The game does say that (for example) crossbowmen gives more damage to spearmen... Can this "more damage" mean they attack spearmen before the warriors? The same happens with the archers, they give more damage to all types of cavalry and siege, so do they attack them directly before attacking the infantry? Didn't make this test yet, but sounds a bit logical...or i'm just dumb...

i'm not sure how the "class vs class" specialties go and the game doesn't give detailed enough battle reports to figure it out for certain. also when you are fighting someone else, time is of the essence, you usually dont have enough time to specifically formulate your formation around what someone else has. thats why the quick troop formation buttons exist. Its possible you could get even more detailed and figure out the perfect combination to destroy someone, but that would be tough in a time burdened environment.

Also do a test formation with heavy t7s numbers they all get destroyed easily, do not attack with big numbers of t7's. Send like just ten of them and boost the numbers of an attack class troop, you might be short on, a solid t10 formation has alot of units you only send 1 to maybe 100 troop. I'm a sh40 been playing for three years, trust me when I say making your formation is easy, you just need to study your reports, what dies you decrease what lives you increase! And always remember to many of one troop is bad, at a point it starts loosing effect, no matter what level it is, damage reduction ratio! Is what I call it .

NightShade if you get attacked, they still count towards your overall troop number and Troop power. They will still get kills even if your big tax so they do help defensively.

They're literal defensive siege lol. Siege means you're invading. These are supposed to work with your inf ing to soak up damage and allow your bow and cav o attack unscathed

Marches aren't difficult. Each troop has 2 kinds. Bow and cav are heavy and light. Siege and inf are offense and defense. So send some of both except inf. So your t8. You send t8 cav bow and siege. You also send some t7 cav and siege and importantly t7 inf paired with the same amount of t5 inf. Spearmen are the best attacker inf. And don't forget they skip units. So a t8 has to use some t6 bow and a t10 has to use some t8 cav. T7 still use t5 siege as t6 t7 are both offensive. Boom my description is better and took me 30 seconds
