That programming stuff you are doing with Zadig and the atmega32 microcontroller chip is highly similar to the programming I had to do on Dr. Scott Baker's PS2 to 5200 controller adaptor. Only he uses attiny microntroller chips.

Huh- That's interesting. Zadig really solved the problem I was having- really grateful it's free for anyone to use. :)

Sorry to hear about your dad, Steve, I was wondering where you had disappeared to but I'm glad to see you back. I hope some future version of these will work with the PS5 cuz I badly need a paddle for the Atari 50th (I got it on PS5 unfortunately) .... also I have a driving game I'd like to use my Mad Catz steering wheel with so definitely PS5 support is a must for me.

Thanks for the condolences, Kevin. I was trying to get back to the channel for months... but it's definitely been difficult to find the time. I am determined to keep pressing on, though, so you will most definitely keep seeing videos produced :) Get yourself a Switch, man! Play those Atari games on the go :) Maybe someday I'll get PS5 compatibility figured out, so stay tuned!

This looks like an interesting device. I'm surprised I haven't heard of it. I'm trying to figure out how to get paddles to work easily on Mister and Stella so I wasn't convinced by it
@greensseanpam561611 ай бұрын
yeah, Bliss-Box was the first to make paddles work on the Mister. Now there are many options. The best options are a) BlisSter. b) Snac. BlisSter gives you multi players that mix and match easily and 4 player paddles where snac, is limited to 1. Here is the first time all 4 worked for the first time on the 7800 core. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqmZl6GJoZZlftk You can use USB also but mapping is painful. as for Stella just use 4.x once the new guy took over he removed support for Bliss-Box and refuses to put it back in. I think he favors the stela-adapter guy and honored him a favor by removing other adapter support. Kinda of a dingle-weed, I like the original dev much better. At least that is my thoughts.

oh so this can convert a PC controller into N64? Let me know when N64 output is in production because I am very interested in that. I just got a funny controller called the "sidewinder dual strike" that basically has an analogue twist function, looking at it I realize its *perfect* for the N64. One analogue, six face buttons, two bumpers, one Dpad, it can be mapped to the N64. Sure, without the left bumper, but that's only ever used when the Dpad is used anyhow and obviously that wouldnt be the point using this controller. This whole system is definitely something I would like to buy but im not sure I understand how to buy it? USB to N64 is the main thing im looking for but I wouldnt mind having wii compatibility, N64 to other things and such. Oh yeah SNES to Genesis is another one im looking for. Or even just USB to Genesis. Mostly because I recently already got the Brooke USB to Snes adapter. Oh and I do have some atari paddles might be good to make sure I can use that on whatever. I think I found an adapter that kind of works but this seems like a good all in one solution. 30:25 that is definitely something I want to do someday is have that controller working with whatever. I dont have the cash at the moment to get that controller but that is 100% a "maybe someday" type thing for me.
@greensseanpam561611 ай бұрын
n64 is ready, you'd want a few pieces. 1) the Gamer-Pro Advanced or a way to adapter PC stick to LLAPI. the GPA is not the only solution but the cheapest by far. There are many other options and being I know nothing of the "sidewinder dual strike" it maybe best to look around for another adapter. The GPA will adapt PC sticks but only analog ones. The older 4-play will do a few digital sticks, hammer head, xterminator, sidewinder, game pad pro but I'm not sure what the "sidewinder dual strike" is. It maybe the same protocol as the sidewinder. Once you find a way to adapt it, then you need (2) the Bridge and (3) the n64 dongle. Lastly I must add that the PC stick input dongle is not in production. There are only a handful of people that own one, myself and Steve are among them. They are open source and can be made. So yes your request is not an easy one but IMO quite achievable. I will help, if you want to attempt this.
@Yipper6411 ай бұрын
@@greensseanpam5616 ok do I guess in that case I will wait until they do have the PC input dongle in production. Seems like a bit of an oversight if im honest, that would be the *first* input I would think they'd want to do. But oh well. Good to know its possible but guess ill have to wait on it.

@@Yipper64 The cables availability was made based on sales when they were all produced for the GP in 2015. The sales over 7 years showed Nes being the most wanted (shockingly), and vectrex, gameport, and atmark, with the lowest nearly non existent. Some cable harnesses cost in the upward of 10k to make, needless to say, that money was lost. Though good fortune of time lent to a new company. This company can make main stream cable and low quantities. So finally these can come back. Cable samples are created and targeted for 2024.

Is Xbox recognizing pressure-sensitive face buttons of DualShock 2? Personally I am dreaming about adapter which translates Xbox OG Controller and DualShock 2 to DualShock 3 signals, so all PC applications which have support for pressure-sensitive buttons (Sony's PS3 driver or DsHidMini) would them work (like reWASD or PCSX2, RPCS3). I know that DS2 have adapters for DS3, but they are difficult to get nowadays. Xbox does not have them at all.

@@bandai1983 As far as I know, the only way to get it working through Bliss-Box products is to add an adapter called the XP Joybox (converts original Xbox controller to Playstation). That's a tough adapter to find these days.
@bandai19832 ай бұрын
@@wiredupretro Yeah, been chasing that for decades. The Mayflash also breaks easily. xp joybox 10 and 11 are only usb hub passthroughs, not true converters sadly, neither the retro trio. But discovered XCM products work with them. As far as routing it to ps2, the brook adapter cannot take the abuse on usb. It burned out like that.
@wiredupretro2 ай бұрын
@bandai1983 There is one other way. You can get an Xbox to USB cable off ebay and plug into a Cronusmax Plus (set up in the software as PS3 controller input to PS4 console output) and plug in to a Brook Super Convertor (a PS3/4 controller to PS2 console adapter). This should hopefully work.
@OGHUGO Жыл бұрын
You are doing too much, if I had to configure the adapter everytime I want to play a game, this would not make me wanna play. I know you are doing testing and all but why play retro games on new consoles with old controllers isn't it better to just play them on the retro consoles with their own controller..
@wiredupretro Жыл бұрын
You can configure the adapter for one system and it's set. You only have to reconfigure if you switch to a different system. I kinda enjoy trying unique controllers that I've enjoyed on one system to play another system's games. Using my Saturn 3D Control Pad can be a good example of this: I really enjoyed using it to play Gyruss on the PS1 disc I was playing in my PS3 in the video and also Sonic Allstars Racing Transformed. In my opinion, it's a worthwhile experience that's rewarding to try out.
@greensseanpam5616 Жыл бұрын
IDK, I get what you are saying but there are just too many fun things to play with. So many bad controller designs and so many times where one controller was so needed. I always look at like the more options the better. If it is not your thing, that do not let anyone twist your arm...The adapter and Bridge are also separate, it is not just to play on consoles. Makes a damn good PC adapter. Some of us just love this crap, I find it quite interesting on games I have beating and want to try it other ways. Heck the only reason my son got in to NFS on the switch was the saturn wheel.
