Hey David I’ve been looking everywhere for an answer, I hope you can help. The question is if you have a power card that gives you a virtual die after your roll (like a fist) can you lock that fist on board.
@meeple2 ай бұрын
Hey, I've put in a call to the folks at Iello for confirmation, but I believe that if the card gives you an icon that looks like an actual die, you can add that to your pool, and therefore lock it if you'd like. With that said, I'm not 100% sure. If/when I hear back, I'll let you know though. When I've asked Iello for rules confirmations in the past though, part of their response is that they just want people to have fun with their games, so they are refreshingly liberal with suggesting, "Play it however makes you happy."
@Darkbold2652 ай бұрын
Wow! thanks David! You have gone above and beyond for this question and I appreciate it! Keep up the good work and amazing content you provide!
@meeple2 ай бұрын
No problem! As a follow-up though, I did hear back from Iello, and they said that the official rule is that locking dice is only for real dice. Any "virtual dice" that you obtain are used on the turn they were received. I hope that clears it up. Unofficially though, I still embrace their attitude of "Play however makes you have the most fun." 😁

Hi i have 2 questions 🙂 First:Positive spin: If you kept at least 1 star dice for you roll, gain 1 star (fame), can i use this ability same turn asume that i keep 1 star dice to unlock this abbility or it only trigers in next turn when at least 1 star dice was keeped? Second:Lava Lord abbility Accelerate the Schedule:When i enter a zone with at least 3 boss dice, I build a crystal. What timing abbility is activated? Assume boss moves to the zone with at least 3 boss dice on it, atctivates them, reach 10 fame and unlock this abbility and use it same time or it only trigers next time when he enters the zone with 3 boss dice?
@meeple4 ай бұрын
If I understand your first question, I think that card would already have to be in play the moment you finish rolling on a turn, so not on the same turn. For the second question, again I would suggest looking at the timing pretty strictly. It would only trigger the moment Lava Lord enters a zone. With all that said, the publisher embraces liberal interpretation of the rules in the interest of having fun. I would use the guidance above, but if it's more fun for your table to do it differently, go for it! 😁

Me and my sons have enjoyed King of Tokyo for many years and have loved all the expansions... That said, personally, one of my favorite aspects are the evolution cards that make each monster truly unique. How would they play into this version if possible?
@meeple Жыл бұрын
Those are effectively replaced with the "Allies" in this game. Once a player scores their first point of Fame, they take one of the Ally sheets, which has a progression of building powers. Between the allies and the standard power cards you can purchase with energy, it feels like it has a similar vibe on that front.
@ryanweible90903 ай бұрын
one question, if you fet 2 fists and a foot, can you do 2 damage in your zone, move to adjacent and then do 2 damage in the new zone, or is it only in your current zone? i know one card lets you kick and move at once, but the order you resolve, can you move and strike or only that zone?
@meeple3 ай бұрын
If I understand your question correctly, I believe the answer is that you can do the damage before or after the move, but not both. In your example, you would just have a total of 2 damage to hand out.

I’m confused when it comes to dice-locking. Why/when would the boss lock dice, and if you choose to lock one of your dice during the monster phase does that mean you don’t get to use that dice during that term (since you’re saving it)?
@seanv39972 жыл бұрын
Great video, thanks!! Question on the monster dice. If some are locked, do you grab extra from the box to always roll 6? Or are you only rolling what’s left (6 minus the locked dice)?
@meeple2 жыл бұрын
You'll always use ALL the Monster Dice (player dice) every game. In the even that so many are locked on the board, that there aren't 6 to roll, you simply remove any locked dice from the board until you have 6.
@YennschanАй бұрын
I read the rules, 1st we need to prepare 10 monsters dice, but only need 6 to roll , so the left 4 is set aside, it only used in case some player want to lock the dice? Is it correct?

Hello, great vid! Qq, how many monster should you play for solo gaming?
@meeple Жыл бұрын
Thanks! As written, the rules allow for playing solo with just one monster. But given that it's a co-op game, it may be even more fun to play using two monsters. The game scales pretty well, but it may be slightly more manageable, and a potentially more enjoyable puzzle to solve, with two monsters.

Hello guys, I have like 3 Questions: 1. So when u use stars to steal fame, the Boss will not lose fame right? Because it says "steal" 2. I can recharge the support tiles in any zone during my turn as long as a teammate or myself are in the zone? 3. When am I allowed to use the power cards ? There was one, which can ressurect me or a teammate. But when i start my turn at 0 I can not really ressurect me?
@meeple Жыл бұрын
Hopefully, we have 3 good answers. Here goes... 1. As I understand it, the boss doesn't lose fame off of their boss sheet, but rather, players are just "stealing" fame that the boss might have gotten by removing their fame dice. 2. Recharging is only possible in YOUR zone, which may include multiple different zones as you move on your turn. 3. Cards should be interpreted as logically as possible, but even Iello suggests having fun however you want to have fun. I would say that since the card says it can be used to resurrect yourself, then it can be activated at any time (even when it's not your turn). Hope these answers are helpful.

The abilities from the allies are cumulative, so you have them all activated at the same time at fame 20.

Been playing with 4-5 other friends and the bosses level up so fast compared to the players. But we lose if even one monster dies. Wondering if I missed some equalising moment depending on the number of players?
@meeple2 жыл бұрын
Not sure if you might have missed this, or just haven’t used this strategy, but remember that when you take Fame from your monster dice results, you can remove a number of Boss dice that show the Fame symbol from your sector. This gives you more Fame, plus removes that boss die so they won’t necessarily level up as much.

Is the boss'/ ally fame abilities cumulative? Ex, if they have 20 fame stars, do they get that ability AND all the ones below it? Or just that level of fame (until you reach the next level of fame)
@meeple Жыл бұрын
If applicable, it’s cumulative. But many do include language that specifies when it “replaces” a prior ability.

@meeple Жыл бұрын
It's been a while since I played The Loop, but based on my memory, I would say this one feels far more accessible. And I don't mean that to sound like it's easier. But this is particularly the case if players have ANY prior experience with King of Tokyo (which many people do).

Wow… this is WAY, WAY more complicated than the original game. Was going to play this today with a bunch of kids… good thing this video talked me out of that idea. I’m sure I’ll understand the rules at some point, but after watching this video I have NO idea how to play. Been in this hobby for 10 years and I have over 400 games. That says something.
@meeple Жыл бұрын
Yikes. I'm not sure whether that speaks to the game complexity or my teach. 😅 With it being a co-op, and given your experience, I would recommend approaching the game with a bunch of kids by assuming that you might do a bit more alpha gaming for the first play as a method of walking them through it. You can certainly explain the decisions each player has facing them, and then let them make the actual choice. Any complication with this one comes from the procedural steps you must take as you play each turn/round. As long as you have that checklist of steps in front of you, you should be fine with just about any group.
@CharlesHepburn2 Жыл бұрын
@@meeple nothing wrong with your teach…. I just assumed the game would have been roughly as complex as the original game… which it’s definitely a step up for sure. It’s not TI4 or High Frontier 4ALL, but it’s definitely more meaty than I expected. Same as the game Catacombs (a flicking game)… that also blew me away with too many rules. Keep in mind I play Arc Nova, Architects with both expansions, Tzolkin, Rajas of the Ganges, etc. anywho, maybe I just need to calm down and try to digest it again. I’ll need time to absorb the rules myself before I run the game with about 6 or 7 kids (7-10 yo). Thanks for tips. Good video, good teach.

@@CharlesHepburn2 Yeah, I would recommend giving it a go solo (2-handed with a couple monsters), and then you'll be all set. With your experience, you'll be able to walk anyone through it with a solo play under your belt.
