Bruno Mossa de Rezende (born 2 July 1986) is a Brazilian volleyball player, a member of Brazil men's national volleyball team and Italian club Cucine Lube Civitanova, 2016 Olympic Champion, double silver medalist of the Olympic Games (Beijing 2008, London 2012), 2010 World Champion, double gold medalist of the World Grand Champions Cup (2009, 2013), South American Champion (2007, 2009, 2011, 2013), multimedalist of the World League, Pan American Games, Brazilian Champion (2004, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013), Italian Champion (2016).
Career
National team
Rezende started his career in the Brazil team in the youth teams, winning the second place in the 2005 U20 World Championship. Playing for the adult team in 2007, he won the FIVB World League, the Pan American Games, the FIVB World Cup and the South America Championship. In 2008, he took part in the Beijing Olympic Games, where Brazil won the silver medal.
In 2009, Bruno won two trophies with the national team: the World League and the Champions Cup. One year later, he won the World League for the third time and obtained his first FIVB World Championship.[1] In 2011, he finished in second place in the World League and became a South American champion and Pan American champion. A few months later, Brazil won the bronze medal at the FIVB World Cup. In 2012, the Brazilian national team once again won the silver medal at the London Olympic Games.[2]
In 2013, Brazil finished in second place at the World League and won two gold medals in the South American Championship and in the FIVB World Grand Champions Cup.[3] The setter started the 2014 season with the silver medal in the FIVB World League and a silver medal in the dramatic final with Poland in FIVB World Championship.[4] In 2015, Brazil won the gold medal in the American Championship. In the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Brazil won a gold medal after the final match against Italy, and Bruno was named best setter of the tournament.[5]

For those who didn't understand what happened at 03:14. Bruno serves as soon as the whistle blows, catching his opponents off guard since they were still in the middle of their rotation. If players get the order mixed up, the referee will call a rotational violation, which means the team loses a point, and the other team gets the serve.

@@ranggaalyansaputra8775 Not really. Because a setter sets a ball *for* the spikers according to *their* height to spike the ball so a setter's height doesn't really matter in this sense. Having a height is an added advantage that he/she can also practice spiking in case it's needed in a match.

Bruno’s history with the Brazilian team is quite interesting. He worked his way up the roster, eventually replacing the uncontested setter at the time, Ricardinho, a move which some viewed was biased because Bruno was the coach’s son and Ricardinho was at his prime. It caused a major rift between the former setter and the coach, but since then Bruno has a firm grasp of the setter position in Brazil’s team and has been an amazing player.

@@miracleboysatori7160 Kageyama’s better as a setter actually. He’s a prodigy who can set the ball from anywhere, he doesn’t need equal footing and just gets the ball to his teammates perfectly. Even Oikawa was scared of him surpassing him. If we talk about serves I honestly think they’re equal (Kageyama DID learn Oikawa though so props to Oikawa). Kageyama was invited to the All Youth Japan Volleyball Camp thing. Sure in Miyagi standards Oikawa is best setter but not in National standards. What I’m trying to say is the brains go to Oikawa but when it comes to raw talent it’s Kageyama, but Kageyama has grown over the years and he’s not the tyrant king he once was. Both are great setters nonetheless
