There are some known hit registration problems with the mech. Thats why it may appear that it can take some serious damage at times. (so yeah its no you who sucks)

I'm a Light Mech pilot o7 I have been playing the Urbie religiously since before the new skill system (I have played every variant besides K9). My personal favorite is the UM-60 with x1 RAC/2, 5 tons(?) of ammo, MK1 Targeter, Laser AMS, x1 ER SL, and I believe an XL Engine but I can't remember the rating. I'm a Tier 5 pilot so yeah I'm not great at the game. Although having over 1k shots with the RAC/2 with a max range of about 1,080m is pretty great. Moving with the assault lance provides you some protection to make up for only moving at 54kph. I'm certain the HMG build is superior as the damage is nearly 3x higher than my build averages. Normally at end game I get between 230 - 260 total damage off. What I've noticed though is the main benefit of running the RAC/2 is that it has an added psychological effect (at least at T5). Most assault mech pilots are paranoid about early game damage. The RAC/2 can suppress these pilots easily meaning that your team can get better positioning. Besides the Urbies I run Locusts as well. They don't put out the damage of the Urbie but they definitely play objectives better. Load up a Locust with quad LMGs and you're terrifying in the late game (as long as you still have ammo). I take Quad LMGs over Quad MGs because they have a longer effective range which fits to my play style better. In my experience Locusts excel at medium range harassment and hunting down wounded lights, the LGM closes the distance to other (potentially faster) light mechs much more reliably. HMGs do about twice the damage of MGs & LMGs per shot but have just over 100m effective range which is way too close for a 20 ton mech to be regularly.

Kestutis Laukaitis yea the urbie is a beast. The k9 has the most energy points I run 1 large pulse and 4 medium lasers on that. The machinegun/large laser build is great for the r60 and I believe I setup one of the others with a rac5 and some er smalls. The loyalty one is good too for missles so when that one goes out for cbills good buy

So I love the Urbanmech , have an UM-R60, and just found this video... and I love this build so far! I did replace the 2 ER Medium with an ER Large to give me a little more reach when closing in, and added an AMS instead of the beagle active probe, but the heavy machine guns shred opened opponents!

DPS = Damage Per Second, DPI = Dots Per Inch which is the measurement used in mice most of which have a 1click button control that can be programmed to give specific levels of DPI (Sensitivity) on the go.

I used to have the R60 since it was the tank of the Urb's before the others got the same armor buffs, now that the others got the buff I upgraded to the R63 cause those LT energy hardpoints. But I agree it's an assault mini, to further the point I put "ASSAULT" decals on it. lol My R63 runs STD180 - LPPC - 2xERML - 3xMG(2xAmmo) Also that last game had "Father Bill" in it.

I prefer going with 3 medium pulse lasers and 4 HMG. You can grind through the armor of things twice your size if they are stupid enough to try to face tank you. Not to mention it will eat riflemen if they try to go toe to toe.

Urbie is my best performing light chassis, personally, I'd favor normal MG's for the increase of ammo, better spread, and higher crit rate. Last time I used this variant I used a snub nose for hardcore poking :)

Because we have a very limited weight in our little Urbie. Half a ton is a big investment for the rare occasion that my ammo gets destroyed and the 10% chance of an ammo explosion triggers.

Yeah, they're a nightmare. Takes forever to drill through the armor. I usually ignore them because of that. That's what makes HMGs perfect for them though. I'm going to have to try this out.

If you're using the standard 60 engine you will need 8, but an xl 180 only needs 3, every 25 engine rating adds 1 internal heat sink up to 250, and you need at least 10 heat sinks for the build

Hello, I'm building this mech too, but I noticed that your mech comes with much more armour than my fresh purchase. Example, Fresh Purcahse of the UM-R60 leg armor is 42, the one in the tutorial is 52. Is that because of the skill perc? How did you get it so high off the bat?

Why the XL and not the LightXL? Haven't used my R60 yet since the Skill Tree myself yet... But I have enjoyed the R60L with 4 MPLs and 2 HMGs.. I also use Decals to make my backside look like my front and the ugliest coloring with a camo which further confounds the enemy.. It looks like a hippy trash can at a gay pride event that gives out "free love" to the enemy (if that was a thing)...

Is more easy to hit the Urby in CT rather than ST, especially when your build is machine gun centric, you need a lot of face time toward the enemy, I think is a rare case in wich Xl is more viable than other else, in the long run your survability doesn't change too much.
