One time I was in an elevator by myself and a kind of middle-aged black guy got on. For some reason, I profiled him as a guy who might know this song, so I quietly began singing it under my breath and, damn! the guy did know it! We sang it to the next floor. Haha! And at work I used to play this and a co-worker absolutely hated it...until the day I explained what it was all about - the vocalese...and he dug it from then on.

Fantastic voice but with due respect, I don't personally feel this song lends itself to be-bop, improv arrangements, and for me the extraneous vocals detract from the song's message. I'd like to hear him sing the song properly as a ballad.
