The game has a tendency to break it's own rules. Nami gives herself the order to touch the king. That would have been the perfect time for the reveal, *because the moment she's talking about the order, she's touching her phone.* In otherwords, she was not only unfairly punished but it could have given the narrative a vital clue. Namely the identity of the king being a virus in the phones.

Based on what the wiki said about her, she holds a title called God of Gaming and End of God. It is known that she is the 1st place ranker in online gaming. She is also known as a hacker which many government authorities is trying to unmask the identity of her. So I am sure way before King's Game was introduced to her life, she used to go around playing online video games. That is why she decided to go down putting a anti virus on the virus king so that way, if she dies, at least that way, nobody will find out the identity of who is God of Gaming or End of God. I am sure the king sees her a threat because if she someone survives the king's game, she gets a 3rd title which is called king. Many video gamers feared her so that meant the king burned her because the king was just like other video gamers which is fearing her. So I would assume based on the 2 titles she got, the king saw her a threat.

It's one of the dumbest anime I've ever seen, but also one of the most hilarious ones. The manga was bad enough, but the whole two seasons in one/flashback narration thing made everything so much worse. The fact that the main character is the author's self insert is just the cherry on top. My brain does want to implode though from that whole explanation about an actual virus gone computer virus that somehow still manages to infect people and kill them via suggestion, even in their sleep.

Honestly I think the virus aspect could work if they made it so the human body is affected by more than the words. Maybe the trigger for death or punishment is that the computer virus part of the king flashes a series of fast lights when the person opens the message, causing the virus in the person to trigger the hypnotic command.

The worst thing is that they mixed up an actual virus with a computer virus like that's the same thing that can somehow switch back and forth. If they had actually made it about hypnosis or subliminal messages, like in Stephen King's Cell, it might have worked. Basically, the person had to be infected with the actual virus and be subjected to the trigger in the messages. And then they should have made the person kill themselves instead of their bodies doing impossible things, even in their sleep.

Personally, I think both are bad, but the anime is worse. Starting with season 2 and showing the first game through flashbacks was a horrible decision because you already know everyone will die, it's unnecessarily confusing and you have zero time to care about too many characters.

Honestly I just finished this anime and it wrecked me lol until I took a second to process how bad the overall idea is. There needs to be some kind of resolution. It kept my attention because I expected some kind of resolution but a cheesy “to be continued..” then a quick scene of it starting over? A whole series just for a bad horror ending. I personally felt like the anime itself deserved way better than that. Dumb idea at the end of the day I guess so it just doesn’t work. But I thought the acting and music was amazing imo.

I have to admit that this video was very well done! I just finished watching this anime a couple nights ago and the whole time I was watching it I was asking myself the same questions. Why are the tasks so vague? Why am I watching basically two separate shows? Why is the king so unforgiving over a simple thing like what phone they started with? That girl's heel turn was from out of nowhere and everyone was oddly cool with it? The only thing I was disappointed in was that you glanced over their 24 hour run. People spend months training for marathons and these kids seemingly run for 24 hours straight? Realistically speaking it should have ended there. Another problem was the king punished an already dead player at that part. That one guy drowned but since he was furthest (and yet very dead) he still got the text? I could go on but I'll just say I was very disappointed with what could have been a great (or at least good) anime.

I thought the anime was great I think it's a good watch the ending is unsatisfactory but what do you expect on a death game anime I thought the ending was kind of heartwarming but also heartbreaking at the same time it was especially cool to see him go to heaven and see all his friends and his girlfriend again I got advice before watching in in the advice was not to get attached any the characters which was kind of a failed attempt they're only a few characters that I actually got attached to and I was a little sad when they died but no tearjerker I've been waiting to watch this for a long time there was just no dubbed until recently and I don't usually watch horror anime but I definitely think this is a Good one great plot I like how it for the most part it tells two stories at once one of his current game in one of his past game it really did frustrated me that they left room for a sequel by showing you that there's another game when the code they deciphered said that you can end the game if there were no survivors and why would there be a message to decode if that was cap it's a good watch and I definitely would recommend it if you like horror anime it's got a good mix of everything it's got horror its got romance it's got mystery and those three genres on their own make a great anime I would definitely recommend it to anyone who watches anime and anyone who is just beginning to watch anime

I've never read the source material, but I did end up watching the live action movie. In my case, I both admire and despise the King's Game anime for a number of reasons. Likes: 1. The animation setting. 2. The friendship and romance among the show's characters. 3. The goals and determination of people like Nobuaki and Riona who wish to end the King's Game so that they can live to see the future. Hates: 1. The unfair and unreasonable orders and rules of the King's Game, placing its participants in a spot with no chance of getting out in one piece. 2. The heartbreaking tragedies that its participants have to go through if they have any chance of survival. 3. In the final episode of the show, it states on a cell phone that the King's Game won't end until the entire human race is wiped out, which makes it clear that in this kind of dilemma, this game doesn't just take people's lives, it also robs them of their futures, never giving them the chance to live their lives in peace. And it's all no thanks to that foul and unforgivable monstrosity, the King, whose identity and motives remain unclear, even though he is the mastermind behind the King's Game itself. So it stands logical for me to say that the King's Game anime is a terrible show based on the deaths of its characters, the level of unfairness and heartbreak displayed throughout the show, and the fact that it doesn't give a clear explanation what the King's Game really is or why it exists. It might as well make people wish that this series was never around in anime, manga, or real life. But despite from all that, there are things from this anime that have warmed my heart such as the animation settings, the humane and romantic relationships among its characters, the determination to keep them going despite all odds, and the fact there's one thing that the King's Game can't take away from them, being who they are and the happy moments they have shared, regardless if they're alive or dead. What would you say, Nobuaki? Chiemi?

I haven't watched it, but the king's game kinda souns like a less interesting version of that movie, Nerve. Wich isn't a very good movie, so... But the thing with Nerve is that, 1- People are rewarded for completing challenges, so everyone who is playing starts it on their own will. 2- The challenges start simple, with small rewards and negligeable punishments, but the more people play it, the bigger and more complicated everything gets. So the thing is, people start playing cause it's silly and fun and they might get some cash out of it, but the more experienced players are so deep into it that they can't back out anymore, or the consequences will be severe. Even if the movie isn't super good, I think the dynamic of the game is much more compelling.
